Without even trying I usually eat 10+ portions a day, I just can't think how anyone doesn't have at least 5 a day.

Today ive had
oats with kiwi and banana
Apple to snack
Chicken pasta with tomatoes, courgette, onion garlic peppers mushrooms (3 portions at least)
Greek salad tomatoes, cucumber, avocado Basil red onion

And now currently snacking on carrots and humous

Tethers I love you.

BastardGoDarkly · 15/05/2015 20:33

Neither breakfast or lunch normally contain fruit or veg for me, but I eat veg with every evening meal.

My kids eat fruit, so they get their 5 most days, but I don't

bakingaddict · 15/05/2015 20:33

I don't think you are very bright maybe replace some of your 5 a day with some fish/fish oil to increase brain function

dun1urkin · 15/05/2015 20:33

Yesterday I ate:
Cous cous
Tomatoes
Peppers
Spinach
Cottage cheese
Nuts

Cauliflower cheese bake
Spinach
Peas

Today I ate:
Cinnamon sugar Nutella muffin
Supermarket chicken salad sarnie
Skips

Dominoes

Sometimes I eat healthily, sometimes I don't.

SweetAndFullOfGrace · 15/05/2015 20:33

Very easily in my experience. I sometimes wonder how I avoid scurvy Grin

UnspecialSnowflake · 15/05/2015 20:33

I had butternut squash with my dinner, entirely forgetting that it, ahem, disagrees with me. Thirty minutes spent on the toilet later I wished I'd had a nice, veg free carbs and meat fest instead.

underpaidworker · 15/05/2015 20:34

Sorry I probably should of said "its not hard to eat 5 a day"

I've got a nked bar for desert, also 1 more of my 5 a day.

Breakfast-toast
Lunch-ham sandwich
Tea-spag Bol
Supper-crumpets

I usually eat one or two a day when I have meat and two veg for tea. Five is a struggle.

wigglesrock · 15/05/2015 20:34

Today I've had 2 pieces of fruit, some crackers and cheese and for dinner we've just got a takeaway that I have picked the vegetables out of.

Any help?

SurlyCue · 15/05/2015 20:34

Well all that fruit and veg hasnt done much for your brain if you cant work out how some people dont eat 5 a day. It's really very simple.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 15/05/2015 20:34

Is this going to be a boastful thread about how much fruit & veg we all eat? Meh.

xvxvxvxvxvxvxvxv · 15/05/2015 20:35

Not just money.
Access to buying fruit and veg. I once lived on a housing estate with a hairdressers, a launderette, a betting shop and a cost cutter. Fresh fruit and veg in there was like 50p for 1 brown banana or 30p for a brown carrot.
Space and time - working full time, caring for others etc all cut into cooking time. Access to a nice big kitchen. A lot of people live in bedsits b and bs and shared houses. And energy costs. That pound of sweet potatoes at the farmers market might of been really cheap but turning on the gas for one and half hours so you eat them isn't.

underpaidworker · 15/05/2015 20:35

At sea your basically eating a diet of wheat, fair enough but is that through choice or budget?

Cornettoninja · 15/05/2015 20:35

Fancy that.

People live completely different lives in completely different ways.

Mind. Blown.

ouryve · 15/05/2015 20:36

Bully for you.

I love veg. Fruit hates me. If I ate all that, apart from the effects of the allergy to kiwi fruit that I have, I'd be sat on the loo with stomach cramps all day.

And did you actually have 85g of each of those things? Because if you didn't, then you haven't had 10 portions.

My meals today have comprised banana, raisins, sweet potatoes, lentils, onions, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and spinach. 9 items that count, but accounting for portion size, I've had 4 of my 5 a day.

CaptainHolt · 15/05/2015 20:36

I'm not that keen on fruit and I don't snack. I have veg in meals but if I have a meal without any veg in it then I haven't had any Hmm.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 15/05/2015 20:37

I took an apple and a banana to work with my lunch, but it was Friday cake day, so I was too full of cake to eat my apple. There were doughnuts, some has purple icing. Purple is a fruit, isn't it? Confused

TwoKidsAndCounting · 15/05/2015 20:37

I agree actually but you are going to get slated

theDudesmummy · 15/05/2015 20:37

I don't really like fruit so it can be hard. I love veg though.

dun1urkin · 15/05/2015 20:37

I'm still not sure why this thread was started. Did you just want to show off?
Perhaps we should all post a yeah, but I've ...... bet you haven't!!! in reply....

DisappointedOne · 15/05/2015 20:38

I had brunch of scrambled egg, peppers, mushrooms, chilli and cheese with baked beans. The. For dinner a huge salad with feta and a piece of low carb cheesecake.

I don't eat fruit but easily get 5 a day of veg.
