It's all just sinking in, and the other political threads are too eloquent for what I want to express this morning.

Oh tits. This is rubbish.

For all getting into bed with the Devil, at least the Lib Dems reined in the worst excesses of the Tories. Suppose it won't be long before the benefit cuts kick in. Then we have the hunting brigade, clicking their heels.

WitchUsername · 08/05/2015 11:46

YANBU. I think you have summed up the situation perfectly. Sad

Newbrummie · 08/05/2015 11:47

How to leave the UK ?
Where do they think is any better ?
Seriously where ?

FineDamBeaver · 08/05/2015 11:47

In 5 years time Richard Branson will be prancing over the ashes of the NHS.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/05/2015 11:49

its a fucking disaster.

Latara · 08/05/2015 11:49

I'm worried about the NHS (I use it a lot & couldn't afford any kind of insurance). I'm worried about losing my Unsocial Hours pay as an HCA in the NHS (my wages are so low I couldn't afford to lose that pay).
Most of all I'm worried about losing my DLA. Which again, I can't afford to lose.

The Tory party seem to be for the rich only so why the fuck did so many people vote for them?

ovumahead · 08/05/2015 11:49

RIP NHS this is a very sad day indeed.

GlitterBelle · 08/05/2015 11:49

Yeah and what about the suffering people will have to face? My disabled friends gave lived in fear for five years, and that was nothing compared to them having a majority.

How could people have seen the suffering going on and said yes please more of that! It's given them a mandate to continue with harsher cuts and say that's what people want.

areyoubeingserviced · 08/05/2015 11:49

Nick Clegg made a really moving speech.
The whole thing has been draining tbh
The only consolation is that Nigel Farage lost his seat.

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 08/05/2015 11:50

Now this is my kind of thread :)

Latara · 08/05/2015 11:51

I'm also worried they will bring back hunting, cut the Police services even further, cut tax credits even more, make disabled people suffer even more, get involved in more wars, etc etc etc.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 11:52

Hedge, its first past the post. The Conservatives have gotten past first. Its all wrong, but its all we have for now. Its a shock, who will believe pollsters now? They did not predict this. They have egg on their face big time!

InfiniteJest · 08/05/2015 11:52

That was also my response when Tony Abbott won the last election (I'm in Australia). I don't know much about UK politics, but I understand your reaction! Sorry it was a bad result.

areyoubeingserviced · 08/05/2015 11:53

I really fear for Britain.
Welfare cuts on the horizon.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 08/05/2015 11:53

£12 billion in cuts. That says it all. Fuck, indeed.

OberonTheHopeful · 08/05/2015 11:53

YANBU. Fuck indeed.

Latara · 08/05/2015 11:54

I have to say I'm not surprised by the result though - Labour chose the wrong brother to be leader!

I'm surprised but very pleased at UKIP's failure - my even worse fear was a Con/UKIP coalition.

But overall I agree YANBU - fucking hell.

Morelikeguidelines · 08/05/2015 11:54

Yanbu.

My question this morning is do I take up the dual nationality I have a right to and leave the country or just move to Scotland?

Unfortunately bboth would involve me requalifying to do my job Sad

Shinytortoise24 · 08/05/2015 11:54

Could this thread be re named "losers who can't see further than the end of their noses, never mind the next 5 years" ? Labour campaign was a joke and was seen as such by the intelligent floating voter. That why they lost by so much.

stinkyfluffycat · 08/05/2015 11:54

I hate them. I actually hate them. The only thing worse than Cameron's shiny horrible smug face is George Osborne. I genuinely don't understand why people vote for them.

Patapouf · 08/05/2015 11:54

The only person I can watch resign is Farage.

I think I'd cry if I saw Clegg do his speech, and I didn't even vote LibDem.

All I can do now is harass my Tory MP and let him know I want to stay in the EU. I'm clinging to the fact that in 5 years time the older generation who vote Con won't be around and a new generation of conscientious, informed young people who have been fucked over by the conservatives will be able to vote.

Plomino · 08/05/2015 11:56

Well that's policing screwed . When there are no officers left on the streets to patrol, when policing becomes totally reactive due to not enough officers to put out there, and even the few pcsos that haven't been made redundant now are gone , all those who got the conservatives back in , better not bitch when they get exactly what they voted for .

chockbic · 08/05/2015 11:56

I feel a bit sorry for Clegg. Imagine that facepalm each morning.

FineDamBeaver · 08/05/2015 11:56

Shinytortoise24, not unless you'd like to rename yourself "loser who can't see that this might be nothing to do with supporting labour or otherwise".

OP posts:
badtime · 08/05/2015 11:57

stinky, don't sell Gove short. I think he is every bit as revolting as Dave and Gideon.
