To think you shouldn't insult someone just because they voted differently to you?

It feels like a lot of you would feel more at home in a dictatorship.

I've seen people being called stupid, selfish etc just because they decided to vote differently

I don't care who anyone voted for. I do care that we are a nation that allows everyone to vote for who they want without the threat of violence.

YANBU we live in a democracy and people have voted for a majority conservative government so people should respect the opinions and desires of the majority.

Just for the record, the person who keeps calling people cunts and nazis is a Tory.

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 21:22

i probably earn more money than you.

Oh , I like a challenge!

starwarslegoboy · 08/05/2015 21:26

So a thread objecting to namecalling is now at the stage where our 'bullied' Tory chums are calling people cunts.

Smile
starwarslegoboy · 08/05/2015 21:38

I have a life. One which cares about other people other than themselves. That makes me better than you.

I take your cunt 'insult' as a badge of pride.

RoboticSealpup · 08/05/2015 21:38

YABU. I can almost say that I hate people who treat the election like it's a bloody reality show. Unlike 'I'm a celebrity', the outcome matters a hell of a lot and actually affects peoples lives. Disabled people and people with mental health problems have committed suicide because their benefits have been cut and they can no longer support themselves, thanks to this government. Young mothers and their babies have been made homeless and socially cleansed from their local areas, sent away to live far from their families and support networks, thanks to this government. Our health service is at risk, thanks to this government. It's not a fucking game or a competition about who looks better eating a bacon sandwich.

Whilst I can understand that the elite vote Tory, as it is truly in their interests to do so, I cannot understand the regular people who re-elected these evil, "food banks are only proliferating because people are greedy and it's free food" bastards. Between selling the NHS off to private companies and pretending to care about plebby things like football, they're laughing their asses off at you useful idiots.

ibitemythumbatyou · 08/05/2015 21:42

squoosh do you ever eat? go out?

I'm surprised to see you on this thread a good 12 hours later...

Anyway this thread has turned ridiculous, just seeing who can give out the best insult. It's pathetic. Enjoy ripping each other pieces.

Yes there was that really sad case on the programme about universal credit coming in. It will only get worse. Just seen on my news feed about potential plans to stop a back to work sceme for disabled people. The irony is that dhs brother would qualify for such a scheme but the Tories are the best thing since sliced bread according to dh.

squoosh · 08/05/2015 21:48

Why thank you for your concern ibitemythumbatyou, most civil of you. No eating tonight but I'm sipping on a lovely negroni so doing just fine.

I'm sorry your thread hasn't gone quite according to your plan. No wonder you're peeved.

starwarslegoboy · 08/05/2015 21:53

Well you have made a good effort at insulting Squoosh.

devon004 · 08/05/2015 22:17

The Ed Balls speech made me cry and I didn't even vote Labour. Dh was thrilled though as he hates him.

peedoffblue · 08/05/2015 22:38

This whole forum has been so fucking shit today...
Same shit from both 'sides'. Guilting, name calling, dramatics..

No chance of a serious, logical or intelligent debate.. and when someone does make a good point about something- it gets buried by the same crap.

Fucking boring.

starwarslegoboy · 08/05/2015 22:57

V sorry you are not engaged by the quality of the debate. Politics is not just logical, it's people's lives. That means emotion.

peedoffblue · 08/05/2015 23:32

starwarslegoboy Judging by your previous posts on this thread you are doing pretty well for money and care so much about other people.

Why don't you reach into that pocket of yours and hand some of that money out in the ques at the food banks? No doubt stroking your big, self righteous hard- on as you do so. Grin

Permanentlyexhausted · 08/05/2015 23:34

Oh, good grief!

I've only read the first page and the last and already I've found two people whose knowledge of the workings of our electoral system is somewhat lacking - equating the Tories winning a majority of the seats in the Commons with the majority of the population voting Tory.

Sorry to disappoint you LondonLady29 and IKnowIAmButWhatAreYou but the Tories only won just over a third of the votes. Two-thirds of the electorate didn't vote for them. It is the non-Tory voters who are in the majority.

In the interests of fairness, I'm sure there are plenty of other voters across the political spectrum who are equally confused, but I do wonder why.

devon004 · 08/05/2015 23:50

Funny also how Labour lost 26 seats and the Tories gained 24 yet Labour increased their share of vote m ore than Tories if I read the BBC chart correctly.

devon004 · 08/05/2015 23:52

Sorry by more

CheesyDibbles · 09/05/2015 00:15

Starwars, I have been really impressed by your contributions to this 'debate' - what a fantastic spokesperson you are for your party.

starwarslegoboy · 09/05/2015 00:19

Peed. Goodness, had never thought of that. Will do.

Cheesy - Good use of commas

BettyCatKitten · 09/05/2015 00:21

Not insult, but definitely debate. There are a lot of terrified people fearing for their future. One of the reasons is that no one knows where the axe is going to fall.

peedoffblue · 09/05/2015 00:22

Ok have fun, and dig deep! Grin

CheesyDibbles · 09/05/2015 00:27

Ed Milliband wants a private word with you Starwars. I see great things ahead.
