To vote Tory to stop UKIP?

pressone · 03/05/2015 21:18

My constituency is a marginal. Current polls show 36% Tory, 33% UKIP, 18% Labour 10% LD, with a +/- 3% margin of error.

My personal preference would be Labour, but if I vote for them UKIP might take the seat.

Even though I hate the very idea of voting Tory, AIBU to vote for them anyway just to keep UKIP out?

(Really really detest, abhor and loathe UKIP)

Thanks. It shows who's in the lead, but no percentages. Is there a way to see a breakdown? I'd like to see who's second and by how much. Thanks.

UKIP are just Tories really, albeit mad(der) ones. UKIP can't form a government, but unfortunately the Tories could. If you want to vote Labour, then do so.

Aye aye, here they come. Must be a full moon.
I came across this thread by accident and o have so say the "keeping UKIP out" reflects dangerously ignorant sentiment. Ignorance does not mean the liberal definition I.e. against affirmative action or such like. Ignorance means ignoring reality.

No it doesn't. Not a great starting point.

I suppose understanding the history which has been kept hidden from most people like the Balfour Declaration (1917) is going to be way more than you people will ever be able to deal with but could one expect some basic common sense?

Very cryptic. Is this about 'the Jews' or something equally mad?

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:39

I suppose many you you mums are so proud of Labour councils and their ethic of ignoring Asian pedophile gangs in many towns like Rotherham due to British political correctness.

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:41

Uncertain Smile - you have not said why keeping UKIP out is a great tarting point whereas I provided a lengthy explanation. Is the lunatic left always right.... Just because.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 00:42

We occasionally get loons like you around here. They don't normally last long before going very swivel-eyed. Let's see how long you take.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 00:43

People who start banging on about the Balfour Declaration usually turn out to be Anti-Semitic. Why so coy?

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:44

No doubt after years of Frankfurt School type programming by the media and education system, you are so demoralised that you cannot think objectively hence but no reason by your responses.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 00:46

Are you some kind of bizarre AI bot developed by the Institute for Historical Review? You ain't making much sense here.

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:49

Uncertain Smile - I have not come here to discuss history, anti-semitism or the Jews. I am merely using it as an example of public ignorance; that the general public does not know that Israel was agreed in 1917 (under the Balfour Declaration, see Wikipedia) so people can really understand how little knowledge is behind their prejudices. (Prejudice does not mean some cultural Marxist term like favouring a group. "Prejudice is the set of beliefs we acquire by age 18" - Albert Einstein ).

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:52

Maybe you need to look up the terms of reference you are not familiar with.

This place is filled with "Putin is evil because the TV says so" people. On the level of your average American baby boomer.

ComposHatComesBack · 04/05/2015 00:52

Jesus fucking Christ in a Datsun Sunny we've got a full blown tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy whack job on the loose.

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:53

You mean we've got a moron who can't actually think and needs to be told what to think.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 00:55

Wow! 'cultural Marxist' too! It's batshit bingo.
You really should get a dictionary. 'Prejudice' means 'pre-judging before the facts are in', I don't know where you get your definition from.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 00:56

I love it when one of these wanders in. Such fun!

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:56

You don't want to address my arguments because you don't want a proper discussion that challenges your worldview so it's easier to throw labels around.

Spires100 · 04/05/2015 00:58

You may have noticed that I am addressing cliche meanings of these terms against possible meanings not dictionary definitions.

Does political correctness exist?

It's the se thing as cultural Marxism. If you want to deny that political correctness exists, then go right ahead.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 00:59

But you haven't got any actual arguments, have you? It's just nutty conspiracy stuff about Cultural Marxism, hysterical crap from MoneyWeek and 40 year old quotes from dead Labour leaders.

ComposHatComesBack · 04/05/2015 01:00

I can't address you argument as you have absolutely no coherent line of argument. You are just chucking out a load of half baked conspiracy theories and some words you don't understand. It would be like arguing with the speaking clock.

UncertainSmile · 04/05/2015 01:02

Listen, pal. You've been surfing the Internet looking for disparaging stuff about UKIP, so that you can start posting nonsense. I suppose it gives you a break from wanking over 'Atlas Shrugged'.
