About to move into my first apartment. AIBU to put this above the fireplace, or will people think i'm unhinged?

I'd not put it up personally. But I suspect our tastes are not the same.

TrollshaveLittleWillies · 03/05/2015 10:34

I like it, it's interesting and pretty. I would think ironic rather than unhinged. If you decorate the rest of the room in a clearly non-hinged way then it would be fine. However if you have Disney stuff everywhere else then it might be a bit much and you could never bring a date home

It's a lot nice that the really boring flower prints most people have.

majestic? No.

But if you love it, do it.

TheHappinessTrap · 03/05/2015 10:34

And that came out harsher than intended, I just really don't want to comment on what I think about it as your second post sounded deflated.

teddybears · 03/05/2015 10:36

If you like it and it makes you happy put it up!

It wouldn't be to my taste but I love things and people who go against the grain. Smile
My apartment wouldn't be to everyone's taste but I love it.

What else are you planning?

Floggingmolly · 03/05/2015 10:38

Decorate to your own taste, not the supposed taste of visitors. If you like how it looks, go right ahead. You live there.

spudholes · 03/05/2015 10:38

Okay what about this instead? amolife.com/image/images/stories/Art/thomas_kinkade%20(16).jpg

I think it's weird. Like people having huge pictures of their wedding above the fireplace. Horrid. Sorry.

RebeccaCloud9 · 03/05/2015 10:43

Chavvy and ugly is my first impression of both!

But it's your house, I'm sure there are things in my house other people wouldn't like.

TrollshaveLittleWillies · 03/05/2015 10:43

I don't like this one half as much as the first one. If you are going to have one it might as well be the one you were first drawn to.

DrWhooves · 03/05/2015 10:43

I like it OP, I would have it but then I have Disney ornaments and a Disney character tattoo so I'm already in the bad taste corner of MN Grin.

teddybears · 03/05/2015 10:43

If you think individual tastes are weird snowy that says more about you than anyone who hangs a picture.

Op, my comments on the first picture remain the same for the second but as I think you like the first better put it up!

Dfg15 · 03/05/2015 10:47

The first one is better - go for it if u like it !

UptheChimney · 03/05/2015 10:49

There are no words

Roussette · 03/05/2015 10:52

I always wondered who bought Thomas Kincade crap pictures!

Sorry to be so rude OP, but you are on AIBU asking opinions. Both pictures are absolutely ghastly.

However, it's your flat and your choice!

ImperialBlether · 03/05/2015 10:55

They are really awful, sorry.

Momagain1 · 03/05/2015 10:55

Go for it spud! If it makes you happy to see it everyday, it deserves a spot on your wall!

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 03/05/2015 10:58

i like it, but then i'm a witch and like pagan and whimsical stuff like fairies and castles and dragons. I'd have it up in my house if it went with my decor :)

Ignore the stuff shirts, if you like it, put it up!

MinesAPintOfTea · 03/05/2015 10:58

Go for it!

You can always change it if you decide it doesn't fit, its a print not taking a wall down.

RunRunAsFastishAsYouCan · 03/05/2015 10:58

Can I ask, very politely, how old you are?

SaucyJack · 03/05/2015 11:01

Stick with the first one.

If you're gonna do it, do it properly.

Floggingmolly · 03/05/2015 11:04

She's old enough to live alone, RunRun... So am I, and I've got Thomas Kinkade Christmas trees
Each to their own.

Purplepixiedust · 03/05/2015 11:04

Do what you like. It's your home.

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 03/05/2015 11:05

does it matter Run? Is there some age limit on liking pictures of castles?

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 03/05/2015 11:06

being grown up must be so boring and stuffy for some people.
