I don't fit in. I'm old (55), Scottish, sent my DC to private school, not feminist, vaguely right wing, love my DH of 28 years, love red meat, etc. etc. Although I do love Mumsnet. What can I do?

I bet you go mad for a glittery ticker , don't ya ?

WorraLiberty · 24/04/2015 12:19

Fit in or fuck off Grin

TedAndLola · 24/04/2015 12:20

...you don't believe in equal rights for women? Yeah, you're being unreasonable.

catgirl1976 · 24/04/2015 12:20

Um. there's a wide range of people on mums net. non of what you
posted is particularly controversial (aside from the inane "not a feminist" comment).

carry on. No need to start a thread about how much you like meat and love your dh. its not unusual is it?

OrionsAccessory · 24/04/2015 12:21

You don't fit in because you love your husband?! Confused

HappyHippyChick · 24/04/2015 12:21

I think the beauty of mumsnet is that there is no average mumsnetter. Old/young; kids/no kids; male/female all have a place here.

SunnyBaudelaire · 24/04/2015 12:21

so you would be happy for your daughter to not have the same opportunities in education and employment that your son would enjoy? You would be happy to not vote?

Really?

derxa · 24/04/2015 12:22

worra I don't know whether to fuck off or not!!!

OP posts:
SunnyBaudelaire · 24/04/2015 12:22

anyway your whole post is a nonsense - like red meat and love your husband? OK....

derxa · 24/04/2015 12:23

I totally believe in equal rights for women.

OP posts:
ZacharyQuack · 24/04/2015 12:23

Can you explain what you think "a feminist" is, and why you are not one?

glenthebattleostrich · 24/04/2015 12:23

I genuinely don't understand how any woman can not be a feminist

TedAndLola · 24/04/2015 12:24

I totally believe in equal rights for women.

You're a feminist.

catgirl1976 · 24/04/2015 12:24

Well you're a feminist then. Not difficult is it?

OrionsAccessory · 24/04/2015 12:25

Ahem

AIBU for not being a 'real' MNetter
SunnyBaudelaire · 24/04/2015 12:25

" I totally believe in equal rights for women."
but you clearly stated that you 'were not a feminist'?

Enjoyingmycoffee1981 · 24/04/2015 12:26

You are 55?

Your post read like of of an attention seeking early teen

derxa · 24/04/2015 12:27

JackieO I don't get you darlin'

OP posts:
TheGirlFromIpanema · 24/04/2015 12:28

Nichola? Is that you?

Sparklingbrook · 24/04/2015 12:30

You aren't allowed to say you aren't a feminist. Sad Grin

I am not a real Mumsnetter, my children have tvs in their rooms and crisps in their lunchbox.
I like the pink and blue aisles in toyshops as it makes shopping easier.

I could go on....

Oscarandelliesmum · 24/04/2015 12:31

Sounds like you are a feminist to me. Maybe it is the title you have an issue with?

Sallystyle · 24/04/2015 12:32

I love my husband! I didn't know that made me different to other MNers Confused

derxa · 24/04/2015 12:32

You're right enjoying my coffee. In my head I'm a teenager. I just can't take life seriously and yet life has been very serious.

OP posts:
wetspringtime · 24/04/2015 12:32

I don't think I consider myself a feminist because I am not completely pro-choice.

I do believe in equal rights for women however.

WindMeUpAndLetMeGo · 24/04/2015 12:33

I had this yesterday - feminism has been skewed over time and many people don't identify as one. I read posts on here and genuinely think wtf half the time.

I think many people don't want to fit into that particular branded box as they don't agree with everything contained in it.
