Very trivial discussion (so I know I am being unreasonable already Grin ), but I am reading a thread about nasty celebs from 2008 (google brought me there) and really enjoying the gossip... AIBU to ask who the nicest and vilest celebs are who you have met in real life?

Ages ago there was a thread or threads to see if MN could agree on liking any single person. It was close, but no consensus was found. Could Anthony Head be the one?

TheSpottedZebra · 21/04/2015 20:26

Gosh, Squoosh - so we're at 3 on this thread already. He's almost as prolific as A.Head.

TheSpottedZebra · 21/04/2015 20:27

Oh, to be clear, prolific but in a v v v v V different way.

Koalafications · 21/04/2015 20:27

No, Koala - you've mixed up your princesses! Anne = good egg, Margaret = cowbag.

Oh shit! Poor Princess Anne Sad [guilty]

Sansarya · 21/04/2015 20:30

Whitershade I am intrigued by the Hugh F-W hair wanker story. What on earth was that about??

squoosh · 21/04/2015 20:30

Yes. Prolific in a VERY different way Grin

MrGegsen · 21/04/2015 20:36

I once met Sasha Grey. She was very rude, refused my advances.

SiobhanSharpe · 21/04/2015 20:37

Yes, it's 2015, we're all adults and couldn't give a flying fart who you shag as long as it's legal, etc etc, but the concealment or denial of true sexuality still reeks of hypocrisy to many people. Has coming out really harmed the careers of gay celebrities like Graham Norton, Alan Carr, Ian McKellern, Russell Tovey , Elton John, Sandi Toksvig, Sue Perkins or Clare Balding, some of whom are considered to be national treasures? Your sexuality, if you're in the public eye, only becomes 'scandalous' (for want of a better word,) when you hide it.

Whitershadeofpale · 21/04/2015 20:37

Well the story was that a friend of mine stayed at his when a lowly production assistant on RC. She awoke in the night to find him standing over her wanking in her hair. He the said to her 'don't worry, it's just my thing' [boak].

As you can see from above my friend isn't the only one to have had the 'pleasure' it looks like he's a prolific hair wanker!

Sansarya · 21/04/2015 20:42

!!!!!

Koalafications · 21/04/2015 20:46

Siobhan it's just not relevant on a thread about MN'ers experiences with nice and nasty celebs is it?! Confused

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/04/2015 20:49

Gross, just gross. If it wasn't anatomically impossible it would make you wonder about his own rather long hair.

Clawdy · 21/04/2015 20:50

Many years ago I was working in an inner-city primary school, and the Year 6 class did a little play based on A Midsummer Night's Dream. It worked really well, and their teacher took some photos, and decided to send them to Sir Laurence Olivier, not really expecting a reply. He sent back some photographs of himself in various plays and a lovely hand-written letter to the children, which started "Dear fellow-actors....." Smile

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/04/2015 20:52

SBK, thanks, I have a near-dormant DS account, may mosey over there some time...

squoosh · 21/04/2015 20:56

Oh wow that's so wonderful Clawdy. One of the most revered actors there's ever been and with quite a fearsome reputation. What a sweet thing to do Smile

Clawdy · 21/04/2015 20:59

I know, squoosh, I've loved him ever since!

ArcheryAnnie · 21/04/2015 21:23

That's pretty adorable, Clawdy.

On the HFW thing - how has he not been arrested? My god. And all the UGGGHs in the world.

SenecaFalls · 21/04/2015 21:29

Years ago when I was a student in the UK, I waited outside a state door in London with some other American students to get Laurence Olivier's autograph. Not only did he give us his autograph, but he chatted with us about how kind American audiences were to him and that he hoped that we were enjoying our experiences in the UK. All these years later, it is still a very sweet memory.

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 21/04/2015 21:34

Wasn't going to RTFT but I need to know who the hair wanker is!!!

My friend is a fashion photographer. She was in awe of Yasmin Le Bon - gorgeous and a lovely person apparently. Heidi Klum on the other hand was "not a nice lady".

dougierose · 21/04/2015 21:41

Is RC Australian?

dougierose · 21/04/2015 21:45

Many years ago I interviewed Jonathan Morris (before he got the BREAD gig and went a bit odd) and he was absolutely lovely. It was one of my first celeb interviews and he was a sweetie pie - we conducted the interview in his bedroom whilst he watched Liverpool on the telly and his sister was sitting on a chair (who also was adorable and I wanted to be her BF forever) - afterwards he insisted on playing back the tape of the interview and said he'd turned down the Evening Standard for my interview as my letter was so nice.

And then he got famous and went a bit odd and I watched him on The Games and he was a complete t pot.

Coumarin · 21/04/2015 21:50

I'm kind of curious how they know it was the hair he was aiming at rather than face. Oh god that looks even worse written down. Confused

I really shouldn't press post now but it's this or google...

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 21/04/2015 22:02

Just thought of a celeb I've met who is a complete and utter wankbadger.

Brace yourselves.

This might come as a bit of a shock to everyone.

River Cottage, dougierose.

PlumpingThePartTimeMother · 21/04/2015 22:11

DH can attest to the niceness of Steve Coogan! Met him at a party in early 2000-ish, had no idea who he was, thought he was an open, friendly, nice man.

So there you go!!

My dad got shouted at by Liam Gallagher once for taking a photo without asking, but that's it Grin
