Nastiest celebs...

Very trivial discussion (so I know I am being unreasonable already Grin ), but I am reading a thread about nasty celebs from 2008 (google brought me there) and really enjoying the gossip... AIBU to ask who the nicest and vilest celebs are who you have met in real life?

OP posts:
londonrach · 19/04/2015 20:48

Living. The saville guy. My gran (neighbour) now deceased told dsis and i us back in the 1980s he wasnt nice to children. Gossip from the post office? (She died before saville was revealed)

mrspremise · 19/04/2015 20:49

Fully bumped into Anthony Head at the theatre in Bath (literally Blush). Totally horrified, but he could not have been nicer about it... Charles Kennedy (former LibDem leader) was just lovely when I met him through work with the NUS. Leslie Crowther was adorable and Matthew Kelly remains the funniest man I have ever met.

Meloria · 19/04/2015 20:50

I'm so glad no one has anything bad to say about the Beckhams. Living and working in Central London you get a bit spoiled by seeing celebs often but they are two people I would love to see in the flesh.

mrspremise · 19/04/2015 20:51

And Celia Imrie is, as you'd expect, an absolute darling. Lovely lady.

TiggyD · 19/04/2015 20:52

Dieu, When James Cordon got famous he became an utter wanker. According to him. I've heard him apologise and he says he's not up himself any more. Hope it's true.

notquiteruralbliss · 19/04/2015 20:52

Pete Doherty is lovely in real life, really sweet and nothing like the image presented in the tabloids.

nousernamesleft · 19/04/2015 20:53

McFly are a lovely bunch, they had my ds giggling his head off less than an.hour after a big op, and spent ages chatting to the kids. Ds got a get well card from them too.

Tony Blackburn knocked me flying when I was a kid, in my mind he did it deliberately, but dad says it was an accident and he was mortified. I can't stand him though Blush

William Hague is lovely, very very clever, and damn good at helping birth a lamb.

Julia Donaldson is a bitch. She held an event with the Scottish booktrust for a group of about 40 kids, of which mine were 2. She was lovely while the cameras were on, but sat in a room bitching about the book signing she was doing afterwards for over an hour, while all these young kids waited for her. She was quite nippy to the kids when signing too. Her husband is fab though, he was chatting nicely to all the kids, and pulling faces at them and stuff.

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/04/2015 20:53

That anecdote about Shirley Bassey made me chuckle, you can take a woman out of Tiger Bay and all that. Grin

Livingtothefull · 19/04/2015 20:57

Yes londonrach, it seems to have been common knowledge that he abused vulnerable children regularly though nothing was done about it by those who could/should have acted. He sank as low as it is possible for a human being to sink as far as I am concerned….don't want to derail this thread but as his name was mentioned above I just wanted to clarify that we are not talking about just another rather unpleasant person in his case.

Hugh Jackman is a friendly chatty sort, aware he is adored but very likeable.

mkz10 · 19/04/2015 21:00

Liz Hurley, horrible snob, but at least she doesn't discriminate against the little people, Sharlene Spiteri had same experience . " Oh God. She was rude, very rude," Sharleen says of Liz." Apparently at a party, Liz said to her "and you are?", Sharleen answered "Ali-fucking-baba" Love it !!

Colin Farrell, so, so nice and normal.. Verrry good-looking, shorter than I imagined.

The guy who used to be married to Patsy Kensit, the Scottish singer, very nice guy. Was hitting on me though, and he was still married to her.

A few models, none of whom you would look twice at during the day. The one who was very beautiful, before she messed with her face, was the underwear one (american) Clarisse or something (I am brain dead and can't be bothered to google her name) she was also very chatty and nice. Tiny body, the most amazing skin.

Michael Schumacher, god love him, in his F1 days. Very formal but polite.

Roger Federer and his wife, very nice and friendly.

Drummer from U2, very surly, but I think he is shy.

Lead singer from The Script, an absolute sweetheart, so so friendly.

Coleen Nolan's son (lead singer in some boy band), really pleasant and normal. He was very sunburnt.

Bob Geldof, an asshole.

frankie001 · 19/04/2015 21:00

Owen Wilson was nice after he bumped into me. His minder was an arrogant twat.

OllyBJolly · 19/04/2015 21:00

Jason Priestley (90210) - absolutely lovely. A great laugh and really good fun. He's tiny.

Andy Murray - so down to earth - not comfortable with fame, just an ordinary - but very focused- guy

The late Keith Floyd - nightmare. I'd been tasked with keeping him sober for an event and failed miserably. He spent the night groping his companion and falling off his chair.

Mary Tamm (Dr Who, Brookside, Odessa File) a beautiful woman inside and out. So very kind and caring.

Elle MacPherson - very pleasant.

Michelle Mone (before she was a celeb, but was a successful businesswoman) - entertaining, focused, very supportive of women in business

Danny Alexander - very nice, self deprecating, genuinely interested in people

Nick Clegg - mischievous , met him not long after the last election and got the impression he was more surprised than anyone that he was in government

David Milliband - charming, wicked sense of humour. Razor sharp

Francis Maude - something worryingly attractive about him (shoot me now!)

Tristram Hunt - he is lovely! Very clever, very personable, very funny.

As a pp said, you shouldn't judge on one interaction -but I will! I was sitting close to Rowan Atkinson at an airport. Two young kids (9,10?) spotted "Mr Bean" and went over to ask for his autograph. He absolutely bellowed at them, swearing, and didn't stop when they both started to cry. Yes, he probably gets bothered a lot, and maybe he is a nervous flyer, but no excuse.

frankie001 · 19/04/2015 21:01

Anthony Worrall Thompson, absolute twat

Purplepumpkins · 19/04/2015 21:02

My boss met Gwyneth Paltrow, Ricky Gervais And the late Joan rivers. All perfectly nice people.

I've met Kevin mckidd (Rome, greys anatomy) lovely lovely guy and gorgeous too.

My nanny friend met graham norton said he was lovely.

Saw Angalina jolie in selfridges, she's stunning in RL and was alone with her daughter so I left them alone but she and her daughter looked to be having a lovely time.

I met atomic kitten at an album signing and they were very sweet.

WhiffleSqueak · 19/04/2015 21:03

kate moss is as you might expect. funny, irreverent and up for always up for a giggle.

Plomino · 19/04/2015 21:03

Richard Branson - makes a mean cup of tea at 3am and is lovely . As is his wife .

Honor Blackman - very up herself .

Anita Dobson and Brian May - both very unassuming and down to earth .

Ian and Victoria Hislop also lovely ( and he makes nice coffee too ! )

Tony Benn - very rude and patronising for a Labour man . Certainly looked down his nose at this worker . And his house was a tip , which he excused on being an 'intellectual '. No mate , you're just a slob .

AmysTiara · 19/04/2015 21:04

Rebecca Adlington was very stand offish

Jason Donovan was lovely

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/04/2015 21:05

Olly, on that one interaction who could fail to judge! Totally unnecessary. Disappointed. Sad

Laloue23 · 19/04/2015 21:06

Another one loving Jarvis ...
Thom Yorke however...

hobNong · 19/04/2015 21:08

Sir Philip Green offered him free run of loads of women's clothes but he didn't know my size

LTB.

Agreed.

WhiffleSqueak · 19/04/2015 21:09

I ate Dom Jolly's sausage.

(was a waitress at a pub where he was lunching. left a pork and leek sausage on his plate and I had forgotten breakfast)

halfwildlingwoman · 19/04/2015 21:13

I'm just going to comment on people mentioned here. DH worked with Emilia Fox and we had dinner with her. She was lovely, very sweet and charming, seemed genuinely interested in me and my job and told funny anecdotes about her theatrical family.
I met Mark LaMarr and Phil Jupitus and they were both lovely.
I know a few people that have met David Beckham and they have all said how lovely he is. I have also heard how gorgeous Jacqueline Wilson is - she signs books for hours and hours and talks to every child individually.

Ludoole · 19/04/2015 21:14

Dp used to work with the charlatans and says they were great.
He says Will Young was an arse and they had words... Will Young later apologised Grin
Jimmy Carr was an arse who backtracked when confronted Grin
Simon Cowell was lovely
Apparently David Cameron was lovely - Hmm more personable than when on the telly ( i choose not to believe this as i despise the man Grin
