southeastastra · 19/04/2015 15:36

yes, though people call people what they want on here now. it's a free for all

southeastastra · 19/04/2015 15:37

the 'you sound 'unhinged'' is lesser spotted these days though

I've seen some people say some really horrible things recently Hmm

Going beyond bluntness to exceptionally rude for no reason - out of the blue too

ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:38

i loved unhinged wistful
so many mumsnetters are ravingly er.. unique

I'm beginning to hate the 'just a thought' which seems to be cropping up a lot. Normally by someone on a very long thread which they clearly haven't read.

ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:40

this is where I think getting the I out of AIBU would be good

it should be
is this unreasonable...thereby making people stick to the topic.

SirChenjin · 19/04/2015 15:40

It's up there with the rest of the "you sound precious/entitled/mad as a box of frogs etc". What the "you sound" poster should be doing, of course, is using their I statements - e.g. "I think you sound" etc, because unless they've checked with everyone else on the thread and confirmed that is indeed what 'you' sounds like, it's their opinion and nothing else.

NotallTravellersarebad · 19/04/2015 15:40

I agree it's pa. yanbu. I'd like to add a couple if I may.
What a prince/charmer/catch- when said about someone's dh/p.

GoGiYerHeedAWobble · 19/04/2015 15:41

There aren't so many or directions to grip shops or offers of spare grips anymore. I miss them Sad

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2015 15:41

God, the 'entitled' thing is just so dull and tiresome.

AuntieStella · 19/04/2015 15:41

Yes, it's (usually) an insult.

If you've seen it on a thread, report it as a personal attack and it'll be deleted.

Then again, when said in response to a poster who has just been horrible about the attractiveness of overweight women I'd quite like to see it stand.

(wonders if this thread is a specific TAAT, and if I've made the right assumption about the back reference)

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2015 15:41

Does anyone actually ever post on AIBU and think they have been unreasonable though?

ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:42

threads about ONE of H's annoying habits always make them sound a nobber dont they?

and the more you say ' he is really nice!" the more mad YOU sound.

I once had one about my h losing his rag with some teens on a long haul flight. It was a funny interchange were i think he threatened to tear them limb from limb if they knocked his seat back again Shock and MN was Not Amused.

me ' hes really nice" in a small voice throughout

OP posts:
ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:43

kind of stella - but its everywhere.
IMO that post should just have been reported

OP posts:
ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:43

'where' not were

OP posts:
Lavenderice · 19/04/2015 15:44

I love the 'grip shop directions', but I hate 'cool wives', it makes me itch with rage!

Hassled · 19/04/2015 15:44

Yes, no-one gets handed grips anymore, do they? I bloody hate the "you sound nice" comments particularly as they seem to be reserved for people who actually sound perfectly OK, just in a bit of a tizz for whatever reason.

ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:45

i dont get cool wives

i DO get cool moms

BitOfFun · 19/04/2015 15:47

It is a bit pissy, but then again, AIBU would be pretty bland if it were all full of reasoned, non-confrontational posts.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 19/04/2015 15:51

I hate HTH at the end of a really sarcastic comment where someone genuinely needs help

ElizabethHoover · 19/04/2015 15:52

YES A MOMENtary bip with a mate or a sister

' some kind of sister/mate YOU are'

OP posts:
AuntieStella · 19/04/2015 15:52

HTH is normally sarcastic on MN.

Not nice when it's used outside AIBU.

EastMidsMummy · 19/04/2015 15:54

Everything we post is just our opinion, isn't it. Why do we need to make that point on every post?

(Just my opinion)

BeachyKeen · 19/04/2015 15:55

I miss the old days, when it was a quick "On yer bike mate!"
