Trills I thought the H stood for honest Blush and the T in HTH stood for that. God I'm thick Grin

Trills · 19/04/2015 20:42

I read HTH as "hope that helps", but it's a stuation where that vs this is not really important.

This is the most sarcastic thing anyone can ever post and I love it

Crocodopolis · 19/04/2015 21:00

Hunh. I didn't know that about the biscuit smiley.

I loathe passive-aggression. If (generic) you has a problem, please just come out and state whatever is bugging you so that it can be addressed and, with any luck, resolved.

Passive-aggressive comments are for cowards.

Crocodopolis · 19/04/2015 21:01

Grr. Have a problem, not has a problem.

HoneyDragon · 19/04/2015 21:04

I still like to see a

At the bottom of a comment.

I'm easily pleased.

TenerifeSea · 19/04/2015 21:11

Trills I always thought it was in my honest opinion!

Trills · 19/04/2015 21:29

Looks like it could go either way

OinkBalloon · 20/04/2015 07:01

Yeah IMHO. Fake modesty: it's your opinion, nothing humble about it. I never use it. I prefer straightforward IMO.

Trouble is, there's no 'tone of voice' to help us interpret. That's why we have the emoticons. In RL a neutral or pleasant comment spoken in a clearly sarcastic or angry tone is not PA, and may not even be bitchy. Doesn't come across that way in text. You put your own tone of voice on it, which may not be the poster's. and then, over time, phrases take on MNmeanings that may have little relationship to the RL meaning (eg biscuit) and catch out newbies.
