I think I might actually quite like him! At least he's not just an overgrown public school boy, and he seems to have a shred of integrity about him. Actually, he's quite huggable really.

OP posts:
albertcampionscat · 17/04/2015 14:52

I always quite liked Wallace.

noddyholder · 17/04/2015 14:53

I have always liked him and thinks he has been unfortunately targeted by the image police in the press.

SisterMoonshine · 17/04/2015 14:55

I should have watched last night, as I've heard a couple of people say that now.
I want to vote Labour, but am struggling to get past the fact that I don't like him.

Anewmeanewname · 17/04/2015 14:56

Nope.

noddyholder · 17/04/2015 14:56

I think he would be a good prime minister I trust very few of them but I think he has a certain integrity that I like and he takes the insults with grace and keeps doing teh job!

Anniegetyourgun · 17/04/2015 14:57

It's available on iPlayer, I watched it this morning.

Miltonmaid · 17/04/2015 14:57

I too have warmed to him. I wasn't impressed when he first became leader but I can see him making Prime Minister. I like that he's intelligent and willing to argue his point. I think he's shown a very strong character actually in response to sustained personal attack.

albertcampionscat · 17/04/2015 14:59

The press have put out a vicious caricature of him for years now. In reality (well, I suppose I mean on telly) he comes across as clever, reasonably nice-looking, interested in people and well-meaning. Before I sound too partisan, the same can be said of Cameron, but Cameron's been sold to us as a cross between Julius Caesar and Errol Flynn.

Hassled · 17/04/2015 14:59

I've always liked him - I do think he's a decent, honourable man with genuinely good intentions. And there are few enough of those people in politics.

But for a while I doubted his leadership ability - I thought he lacked the charisma I thought was necessary to ever get elected. I didn't vote for him in the Labour leadership elections. I was wrong, though - he is proving himself, he has found a statesman-like quality that wasn't obvious even 6 months ago and if he still lacks charisma - well it turns out that doesn't matter, that people can see beyond charm and polish. He deserves to do really well.

RonaldMcDonald · 17/04/2015 15:00

he's doing somewhat better I think, glad to hear others are also thinking so

RonaldMcDonald · 17/04/2015 15:02

Interesting to hear that the Sun simply are being mean to him and not backing him as he came down publicly and heavily against Murdock post Levenson

Awful to imagine that they can ruin a man's reputation and affect the govt of a country simply because an MP said that they were utterly out of order

Miltonmaid · 17/04/2015 15:03

I don't like Cameron, I just don't find him sincere and he has shown himself to be a bully in the way he has encouraged personal attacks on Ed. I watched a documentary about him ages ago and on the bits on camera he was quite charming. There were a few shots where he wasn't aware he was being filmed and he seemed quite different.

Miltonmaid · 17/04/2015 15:04

I meant a documentary about Cameron.

AnnPerkins · 17/04/2015 15:06

Yes, I think he has always kept too low a profile. At times in the last five years he has seemed almost non-existent.

The increased exposure from the campaign and especially the debates has really helped his image. He obviously enjoys debating and appears confident and relaxed.

RiojaHaze · 17/04/2015 15:07

YANBU. He seems to have hit his stride in last nights debate and now appears more confident and passionate. I've definitely warmed to him too.

CaptainAnkles · 17/04/2015 15:08

YANBU. A dislike for undercooked bacon and a slight speech impediment shouldn't be reasons not to vote for his party.

LineRunner · 17/04/2015 15:08

He needs to get shot of Ed Balls, then I would like him more.

Tiredemma · 17/04/2015 15:09

I am a labour supporter and was truly agonising over voting this year as I did not see EM as a credible PM. I felt he lacked the leadership capacity for the role- however, like others on this thread, I have actually been very impressed with his presentations over the recent few weeks.
I am re-considering voting for labour- I admired his confidence at knocking back Sturgeon last night.

Tiredemma · 17/04/2015 15:10

yes - Ed Balls is bordering on the ridiculous

Miltonmaid · 17/04/2015 15:12

The debates and campaign have been good for him because you can see him for yourself rather than through the media. The press have a narrative fed to them by the Conservatives, that he's weak and useless. It's blantantly not true.

Tiredemma · 17/04/2015 15:14

Is this enough time for the public though to be convinced by him? I fear it is too late.

David Cameron is making my blood boil more and more each day

Come back Alan Johnson

mizu · 17/04/2015 16:04

I will watch on iplayer. I like him too, he is growing on me. The thing is, I think with him is that he is not an actor and he is honest in what he says.

Fairylea · 17/04/2015 16:05

He's great. Gets my vote.

I think he comes across brilliantly.
