I think I might actually quite like him! At least he's not just an overgrown public school boy, and he seems to have a shred of integrity about him. Actually, he's quite huggable really.

OP posts:
YouBetterWerk · 17/04/2015 16:07

YANBU, I've really enjoyed getting fired up about Labour again.

Vevvie · 17/04/2015 16:08

YANBU

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 17/04/2015 16:08

I'm with you all - Ed for PM!

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 17/04/2015 16:09

He went up in my estimation a lot for his handling of the Nicola Sturgeon SMP coalition point. More backbone than I expected there.

drudgetrudy · 17/04/2015 16:12

Some sections of the press have deliberately painted a very unflattering picture of him but when you see him for yourself its easy to see that he is not as they portray him. YANBU.

Miltonmaid · 17/04/2015 16:15

I wonder how many floating voters have warmed to him though? I was sort of undecided at the start but I suspect I would always have voted Labour once I got into the booth.

GoblinLittleOwl · 17/04/2015 16:27

Every day, in every way, something lovely about the Labour Party.
You have to admire the persistence of the people who put these up.
I just remember the state of the economy when they were in power.
And all the strikes in the 1970s.

Elledouble · 17/04/2015 16:30

I'm still struggling a little to imagine him as PM (I say this as a Labour supporter), but I do genuinely like him.

I did have quite a rude dream about him the other night though Blush

ShakesBootyFlabWobbles · 17/04/2015 16:34

I'm a floating voter. Still don't know who to vote for. I thought the debate was a shambles last night and I would happily vote for none of them.

If you are basing a vote on warming to a person or on a TV show, well I can only say YABU.

ChazzerChaser · 17/04/2015 16:35

Grin Elle. I've always liked him and admit I now think I might even fancy a little bit!

OttiliaVonBCup · 17/04/2015 16:35

Some people even liked Blair once.

Just saying...

Lottapianos · 17/04/2015 16:35

I think he's great and have been a fan for a while now. I think the bullying he's had to put up with from the media (and from Paxman and Burley in particular - shame on you two) has been utterly disgraceful. I like that he's got a softer side and he's not always as polished as Cameron. I agree with other posters that he seems to believe what he says and I think he does care about making the country a better place, unlike Cameron who can't even be arsed to pretend to give a shit anymore.

I thought he was looking pretty good last night actually. Mind you, they were all looking pretty good - even Nigel Farage looked like he'd had a decent night's sleep or something

shewept · 17/04/2015 16:36

Nope, still don't like him. And Nicola sturgeon isn't doing him any favours today, either.

RonaldMcDonald · 17/04/2015 16:38

This whole idea of 'struggling to see him as PM' is made up in the media to slur and contain

When we look at someone like Donald Trump he looks preposterous but he is an excellent business man
Bill Gates looks like a nerd and would have been laughed off stage
Gandhi looked pretty workaday
Einstein rocked a certain look...
Churchill was grossly obese

I know that those might be pretty rubbish examples but when we actually think about it a great deal can be done by very ordinary people with very real odd ticks behaviours accents or disabilities
Why on earth would we choose a PM based upon how he looks or sounds?

Icimoi · 17/04/2015 16:38

GoblinLittleOwl, please tell me you aren't seriously intending to base your voting decisions on what happened in the 1970s. And indeed that you aren't trying to suggest that Labour was responsible for the global recession.

drudgetrudy · 17/04/2015 16:39

They all look okay-its just that some have better policies than others!

RonaldMcDonald · 17/04/2015 16:41

It is difficult for me to think that the Labour party isn't what we are voting for. I am appalled by how 'the debt we inherited' is all we think of now and that narrative simply doesn't tell the whole story

Lottapianos · 17/04/2015 16:44

I think they are very good examples actually Ronald. Donald Trump in particular - 'preposterous' is a very kind word to use about how he looks! But no-one suggests that he's not extremely capable

It is just nonsense that's been stirred up the the media. And for the love of god, he looks fine! Anyone would think he had three heads or something. He's aiming to be the next PM, not the next James Bond or Calvin Klein model Grin

Viviennemary · 17/04/2015 16:46

He isn't coming over as the gormless geek the press love to show him as. However, I am not warming to him although he has gone up a little in my estimation. Certainly nowhere near voting Labour though. He's certainly seeming to be a lot more sincere than Cameron who is becoing more smug by the day or should I say hour.

VikingVolva · 17/04/2015 16:47

I'm not warming to him.

And I always thought the 'looks like a leader' was idiom, not literal comment on physical features only.

I simply don't find him convincing, nor does he seem to have a fully united party. I find a lot of what he says tired, and generally negative. And I agree with previous posters that Balls needs to go.

SaucyJack · 17/04/2015 16:48

I can take him or leave him really. I think he is lacking a certain something, but in his favour he isn't DaveCam, Clegg or that other one who shouldn't even be mentioned so for that reason alone he'll get my vote.

albertcampionscat · 17/04/2015 16:51

FWIW, before the crash debt was much lower as % of GDP than in 1997. And Osborne was promising to match Labour's spending plans & saying banks were too tightly regulated.

Fairylea · 17/04/2015 16:53

Not sure if anyone follows any of the parties on Facebook but the Labour party Facebook page is excellent in terms of marketing and appealing to the Facebook target audience. The Conservative page is awful in comparison and has really missed the mark.

YABU - completely and utterly, nothing statesmanlike about him at all
