Could I vote UKIP.... if it would regenerate my town?

AngelDreams · 05/04/2015 21:13

We have a failing town, the last bank has left, we still have a post office, and a couple of other shops, and there is a little car park there, where they charge you as soon as you get there.

We (me and my friends) think that if it was free for a couple of hours we would go in and get stuff, maybe go to one of the cafes there, but no, as we can get free parking in the nearest (slightly bigger) town, we just go there.

I was talking to a local shop owner who is up for election on the local council - he said he wants to sort the parking, but cannot run on the lib/green/lab/cons side as they are all in the 'keep parking charges' for various reasons. He said he is going in as UKIP as he would never get in as an independant. I dont think i could bring myself to vote UKIP though....

I'm happy to provide some amusement for your fellow Kippers. I'm sure they will have little cause for laughter in a few weeks time. :)

Peter147 · 08/04/2015 02:12

uncertain you just can't let it go can you, you just have to have the last dig don't you? Sad sad sad. Well I've had enough of you now so I will be the bigger person and let you go. I really can't spare you anymore time and the same goes for your little yappy dog Kameki whoever that dyke is.

Kampeki · 08/04/2015 02:57

Grin MNHQ, please don't delete Peter's posts. They're too amusing to be considered offensive. :)

Kampeki · 08/04/2015 02:57

Woof woof!

MinesAPintOfTea · 08/04/2015 05:22

daffs who says "they" don't want to integrate. In our last house, we had an English neighbour on one side and Polish on the other. The Polish family were polite, friendly, helpful in all the usual neighbourly ways.

This has generally been my experience outside London. People joining communities and being a functional part of them.

MN please don't delete any of Peter's posts on my behalf either, I'm killing myself laughing here. I'm particularly loving the concept of using accusations of lesbianism and being menopausal as insults. Hilarious and a brilliant comentary on UKIPers.

Daffs, please, you sound normal, what do you think of Peter? This is who you are in bed with, so to speak.

Sirzy · 08/04/2015 06:59

I would like to thank Peter for his posts, they will surely make anyone unsure of who to vote for realise just why voting UKIP is a bad idea.

merrymouse · 08/04/2015 07:22

I think that if every other party is ignoring an easy vote winner like free parking, there is probably a reason why.

Meanwhile, Peter makes a very strong argument for avoiding UKIP.

merrymouse · 08/04/2015 07:28

What is this english culture that you can't practice? Has Morris dancing been banned?

UncertainSmile · 08/04/2015 07:28

When I finally fell asleep, I think Peter was in my dreams too

NoPsipsinaChocolateOrange · 08/04/2015 07:31

MASSIVE lol at old Petey boy. You could not make it up!

Icimoi · 08/04/2015 07:42

I want to be able to say I'm English and proud of the fact. I don't want to be hushed up and called a racist anymore for this.

See, this is the sort of assertion I don't understand. Ukippers go round saying they are being persecuted because they can't say they're English and proud of it, they can't fly the St George's flag, Christianity is banned etc etc. And yet Daffs has been left to say she is English and proud of it on a forum which reaches hundreds of thousands of people and I can guarantee that the police haven't been round and arrested her for racism; the St George's flag is flown with impunity all over the place and will be ubiquitous come the Rugby World Cup this autumn; and we have just been through a weekend where Christian services were extensively broadcast on the national broadcasting station and churches have been open and busy.

But Ukippers somehow refuse to acknowledge all of that. If they would engage with the actual evidence they might deserve some respect. Until they do, forget it.

OneStepCloser · 08/04/2015 08:00

Blimey, MNHQ please do not delete the very charming Peter with his UKIP party political broadcast, it does really need to be seen whilst giving me a good laugh

Seriously though his posts prove a good point, why on earth would anyone want to affiliate themselves to people like that? Aggressive, homophobe, woman hating, and just unable to string to conhesive sentence together, resorting to trying to humiliate the person that they are arguing with.

If Peter were of a sensible leaning, I would like to ask though, all of your policies are based and going to be paid for by us leaving the EU, thinking out loud how, if UKIP were going to get any power how long would it take to come out of the EU? and how would you pay for all of this in the meantime? Ive never seen this question answered.

And could someone please tell what British Values are? I keep hearing we want British Values back, what the bloody hell are they exactly?

Pepperpot99 · 08/04/2015 08:03

No, don't delete Peter's messages - they will be popping up on the Guardian later on today!

The great thing about people like Peter is that he digs a hole for UKIP all by himself with his verging on illiterate drivel. We just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/04/2015 08:12

Oh dear Peter have you been down the pub with Nigel? You need to learn to hold your beer.

All this talk of "weakness" is rather Third Reich isn't it? Sorry if that is a Godwin.

NoPsipsinaChocolateOrange · 08/04/2015 08:18

Peter isn't the first, or likely the last to make UKIP look like thugs but of course they will try to distance themselves from it. They have had to do it several times already with their own candidates.

The mind boggles as to how anyone can think they are not thugs. 'Oh that one was just an aberration'

Of course Nigel, of course it was...

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/04/2015 08:21

British Values are

  • Marks and Spencer (co-founded by an Eastern European)
  • Winston Churchill (half American)
  • The Beatles (Blues and Indian influenced music written by second and third generation Irish immigrants)
  • Sid James (South African Jew)
  • Boris Johnson (New York born, Turkish extraction)
  • Joanna Lumley (born in India)

Trust that clarifies Grin

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 08/04/2015 08:31

Give a man enough rope... he'll self-implode. Brilliant! To think I was going to comment "Vote for whoever you want" without reading the thread.
Although I'm not sure they're Nazi/BNP style racists as much as narrow-minded ignorant buffoons. Less heat-seeking missile, more Catherine wheel that's fallen off the fence and is spluttering around on the floor.

Whatthefucknameisntalreadytake · 08/04/2015 08:47

But really op, who should be paying for the upkeep of the car park? I am really intrigued to know where you think the money should come from if not the people using it.

SwedishEdith · 08/04/2015 08:51

Oh, I saw Pete's deleted message last night and did wonder if I it would be deleted - I think it should be reinstated so people can see what he's like.

merrymouse · 08/04/2015 08:55

Could the EU regional development fund help pay for your parking? Grin

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/04/2015 09:48

Applauds merrymouse Grin

noddyholder · 08/04/2015 09:56

Rather than just damn a party we need to look at what has happened in the UK to make this a choice. This party have no real solid policies apart from on immigration yet still they have grown. People can vote for who they like it is a democracy. The same goes for not voting

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 08/04/2015 10:23

The upkeep of the car park should be paid for with the rates of the businesses that would be doing better if it was free, its mostly empty these days, as people dont like to pay as theres not much there
