To think it is ridiculous that Katie Hopkins is being investigated by police for her tweets.

I'm no fan of Katie but if I'm honest I don't think she should be investigated by police.

It's disconcerting that many payers here are speaking for the victims and assuming that they would owned at seeing the Pakistan flag flying. Has anyone bothered to ask the victims how they feel? About the flag and about being dragged into this debate by mnetters so all knowing that they can speak for the victims?

I have worked with one girl who was involved. She has no issue with the flash being raised. She is now in a relationship with a Pakistan man who is lovely. What she does have an issue with its being used as a political pawn and the gross generalisations against certain races. She was abused by Pakistan, white and black men. She was let down by a system of mainly white social workers and police officers. This isn't about race, it's about the abuse of vulnerable children who were failed by all the adults in their life.

limitedperiodonly · 02/04/2015 18:31

I don't like Katie Hopkins. She is an attention-seeking fool.

A previous poster has said that Simon Danczuk is a good constitency MP. Maybe so.

He also has a majority of less than 1,000 and is desperate to hold on to his seat. He has previous for being inflammatory and recently slagged off his own leader - perhaps because that leader is a middle class, North London Jew.

He might see that and other things such as raising the Pakistani flag and railing against white Establishment child abusers as a good thing.

We have less than six weeks to go.

Inkanta · 02/04/2015 18:50

I would rather talk about the victims and consider and respect their sensibilities first off. I have worked with victims of Pakistani gangs (not in Rochdale), and they were the victims of similar racially motivated attacks - on British white girls, as in Rochdale. You can't ignore the racial element - and it needs debating. Were all the Rochdale victims asked their opinion about the flag raising. I doubt it. Again, ignored. So in my opinion it was in poor taste - 30 minutes or not because the victims come first.

Idontseeanydragons · 02/04/2015 18:51

I said he's a good MP and to my mind he is. At least he's not as shit as some anyway and I'm not sure who I'm voting for as yet.
Not sure why you're connecting his outspokenness against Milliband with him being Jewish?

Skidoodoo · 02/04/2015 19:03

Anything that shuts the bitch up gets my vote.

LotusLight · 02/04/2015 19:11

Pakistan is one of the worst places on the planet for sexism and the treatment of women. If you give up Islam they aren't very keen on you either there. Not a very nice place. It deserves public criticism.

merrymouse · 02/04/2015 19:17

What ever the rights and wrongs of this issue, I don't think this is the last time KH will be reported to the police for harassment/hate crime - she is a professional troll and makes her living out of offending people.

This is all her bread and butter.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 02/04/2015 19:18

KH is an arrogant vile opinionated bigot. I can't get over her holocaust "joke" about the Milibands. She wants taking down a peg or two.

OrlandoWoolf · 02/04/2015 19:20

she is a professional troll and makes her living out of offending people

To be precise - she targets whole groups. She doesn't just go for individuals but she targets whole groups and labels them with her attacks. That's my issue with her. She does not seem able to distinguish between the individual and groups.

limitedperiodonly · 02/04/2015 19:42

Idontseeanydragons I don't doubt you when you praise Danczuk as a good constituency MP. Mine was helpful, though I would not vote for him.

However, Danczuk has a majority of less than 900 in a northern, working class constituency that has a large number of muslim voters of Pakistani origin and some people of white, nominally Christian base.

So forgive me if I found his recent bitching about the north London, intellectual middle class secular Jew Ed Miliband a bit convenient.

Idontseeanydragons · 02/04/2015 19:50

Ah, I get you now.
The knives are out for him anyway I think locally, certainly where I live (fairly mc predominantly white area) among voters and it's safe to say SD will have a fight on his hands here, assuming UKIP put someone up - and they'd be fools not to - it's going to get sticky for him.

limitedperiodonly · 02/04/2015 20:09

I can't get over her holocaust "joke" about the Milibands. She wants taking down a peg or two.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that was a holocaust reference.

I think she's just an idiot.

She will get her comeuppance.

Icimoi · 02/04/2015 20:16

Icimoi - what about the victims' sensibilities? Do you care how they may feel about it??

What about the victims of all the other non-Pakistani abusers and rapists? Do you imagine they are upset by seeing Union flags or the flags of other countries?

DancingHat · 02/04/2015 20:54

What a vile woman. Why doesn't she think before she tweets? She's just offensive. Her arguments may hold more merit if they were better thought through.

limited maybe - if it was not a deliberate holocaust reference (OK lets give KH the benefit of the doubt) then the issue is that KH is a supposedly intelligent person, she KNOWS EM's family are of Polish Jewish descent and his grandparents fled to the UK to avoid the Nazi death camps. It was EXTREMELY poor tatse therefore to refer to him gassing his wife.

Sometimes groups though are morally wrong like the sexism in Islam and indeed in orthodox judaism and treatment of women by many countries.

Littletabbyocelot · 02/04/2015 21:45

Saying flying the Pakistani flag is insensitive because 8 people did something disgusting is the very definition of racism. Pakistan didn't abuse those girls. The Pakistani community didn't abuse those girls. Is it offensive that people watch children's tv even though a much higher proportion of children's presenters were abusers?

exmrs · 02/04/2015 22:45

This is one of Katie's tweets tonight and I'm utterly disgusted.

@KTHopkins: ED STOP LOOKING AT US. You are weird. Look at people not a machine. Try and act off the spectrum #leadersdebate

YABU she should be fully investigated and taken down a good peg or 10. Sick of the sight of her and what comes out of her vile mind.

WetAugust · 02/04/2015 23:53

'She should be told to shut up'

'She should be taken down a peg or two'

How about just ignoring something that you choose to take offence at and display some tolerance to the views of others?

I don't want to live in a country where people can express perfectly legal opinions and be ordered to 'shut up'

monkeysaymoo · 02/04/2015 23:57

How do you choose to take offence at something? What a stupid thing to say. shut up

CadMaryzCremeEggzAreASwizz · 03/04/2015 00:01

Are her opinions legal though?

She is entitled to tweet that certain people have been convicted. Not that Pakistanis (as a whole) have been convicted. There is a difference.
