To think it is ridiculous that Katie Hopkins is being investigated by police for her tweets.

I'm no fan of Katie but if I'm honest I don't think she should be investigated by police.

OP posts:
Aliiiii · 31/03/2015 20:30

She's a gobby bitch can't stand her

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/03/2015 20:30

It's not the first time is it? I thought she also got herself into trouble over her tweets re Palestine?

OrlandoWoolf · 31/03/2015 20:31

And this:

"Your Pakistani friends saw young white girls as fair game when they abused them. Do NOT lecture me on community cohesion fool"

Substitute that word for any other word about a group and she would be facing repercussions.

"Your black friends"
"Your gay friends"
"Your Muslim friends" - wait, she's already pretty much done that to Muslims.

Maladicta · 31/03/2015 20:32

Amazed it hasn't happened sooner

MaidOfStars · 31/03/2015 20:32

Fatstacks Excellent. I'm sure it says something about me that I read Shiite and hear Liam Gallagher singing 'shite'

Fatstacks · 31/03/2015 20:32

Any excuse to get herself mentioned.

It's skid marks like the far right and Hopkins that muddy the issue with racism.
It makes things worse because normal folk are afraid to be lumped in with the right so don't comment.

monkeysaymoo · 31/03/2015 20:32

So the majority of pakistanis who are not child abusers should be treated as though they are?

That make sense

TheWhiteRoad · 31/03/2015 20:32

She seems to pride herself on sailing close to the wind. Looks like her gob has got her into potentially serious trouble this time. I feel no sympathy for her at all.

fairyfuckwings · 31/03/2015 20:32

I agree with you Megatron.

I know all pakistani men are child abusers, nor are all child abusers pakistani BUT one of the main reasons the council and police did fuck all WAS to do with the race of these men. I agree with her comment that raising the pakistani flag over the town hall is inflammatory.

OrlandoWoolf · 31/03/2015 20:35

fairy

I don't think that's the comment that's being talked about. It's the stuff she came out with afterwards.

Like this:

""Your Pakistani friends saw young white girls as fair game when they abused them. Do NOT lecture me on community cohesion fool"

Is that a racist generalisation?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 31/03/2015 20:35

Yabu. It should have been done long ago. It's about time she was made accountable for her mouth. She thinks she can say what she likes about people even the disabled and children aren't Safe from her vicious tongue.
Yes we all have our views fair enough but you keep them to yourself. You can think what you like, but you can't say what you like.
Like I said long long over due

CountingThePennies · 31/03/2015 20:37

My husband has had much much worse tweeted to him over the last few weeks from another person in the same trade as him.

Police didnt want to know, said it was a civil matter and refused to investigate and said we had to get a solicitor. Solicitor said its a police matter but the police are refusing to do anything about it

Shows it depends on who you are as to whether they want to know or not

PuttingouthefirewithGasoline · 31/03/2015 20:41

well I have not read her comments I never do so this will be said out of ignorance however.

I know her to be a deliberate provocative pile of tripe. So she is being investigated.

However the man whose DD ran away to ISIS at 15, was NOT investigated. We wasted goodness knows how much money on a home office committee meeting that was televised, and where the police apologized to to the Father who claimed totally ignorance on how his DD was influence by isis- HE was NOT investigated and turned out to be in a hate rally on the front lines two years ago, along with other very nasty radicalised individuals Confused Shock

So yes, it pisses me off.

Invistage her by all means but for goodness sake, as high priorties men like the isis girls father should be on the top of the list.

Mrsjayy · 31/03/2015 20:44

Just what other posters said she is using a dreadful crime to en cite hatred raise her bloody profile I hope she is prosecuted she just manages to say what she wants and teeter on the edge of the law she is a fucking troll with a good solicitor no doubt

Fatstacks · 31/03/2015 20:46

I tend to agree Gasoline as much as I dislike her and her opinion, there are more pressing matters imo.

BishopBrennansArse · 31/03/2015 20:48

She's done it to disabled people in general, disabled kids and Muslims. Quite why nothing was done then I do not know.

Maladicta · 31/03/2015 20:50

Actually if it were just her tweets about Rochdale, hmm.

She is the absolute troll. Everything she writes is designed to inflame - her comments about depression are abhorrent, the latest crap about Pixie Geldof is just obnoxious stirring and let's not even go near the comments about Justine Miliband.

I couldn't live a life that full of hate.

BreakWindandFire · 31/03/2015 20:52

I thought her comments on the same day that Ed Miliband ought to stick his wife in the oven and gas her were more offensive and just dog-whistle anti-semitism. However I wouldn't set the police on her unless she was threatening violence. Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake, as the saying goes.

Icimoi · 31/03/2015 20:53

Why is that ridiculous, OP? She is objecting to the Pakistani flag being raised because she claims that is automatically offensive and inflammatory, and she is claiming that the same goes for celebrating links with Pakistan and appearing in photographs with Pakistani men. As she directly links that with the child abuse gangs, you can really only interpret her tweets as a direct implication that at the very least the vast majority of Pakistani men in the Rochdale area were involved. It's an absolutely blatant attempt to stir up hatred on the grounds of race. It needs to be investigated.

chilephilly · 31/03/2015 20:54

No-one is above the law.
Her tweets are disgusting and unacceptable.

OrlandoWoolf · 31/03/2015 20:54

thought her comments on the same day that Ed Miliband ought to stick his wife in the oven and gas her were more offensive and just dog-whistle anti-semitism

She said that? Fucking hell. She does know his background?

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 31/03/2015 20:54

Ah well, she's leaving the country next month, hopefully.

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/03/2015 20:55

People who abuse will abuse children who are vulnerable. If you travel in SE Asia you will see hundreds of white European men abusing young Thai, Hmong, Laotian, Vietnamese girls and boys. We turn a blind eye to that as much as Pakistani men abusing white girls.

Not investigating abuse is the massive, disgusting issue, not the race of the abuser.

Perfectlypurple · 31/03/2015 20:55

Well actually it is not difficult to spot a trend the same thing happened in Rotherham, Oxford, Derby. All cases the perpertrators were mainly from the Pakistani community

Now I'm not stupid I know that most Pakistani do not commit child abuse. But their is no denying that a trend has emerged.

I don't get this reasoning.

In Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Exeter, Edinburgh, Sussex, Essex, Swansea, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Portsmouth and so on child abuse was perpetrated by white males - bit of a trend eh?

Ridiculous saying that on 3 different occasions Pakistani men committed abuse so it's a trend.

fairyfuckwings · 31/03/2015 20:57

orlando I'm not sure it is racist no - but I suppose it depends how you interpret the meaning. The way I interpret it is that the pakistani abusers were friends with the council and that's why they were protected.
