Making yourself into a public hate figure and chasing notoriety rather than actual fame means people will indeed hate you, and enjoy your fall.
Part of the trajectory is people cheering as she says more and more outrageous things, yet when she thinks herself untouchable and over reaches herself, they will be suddenly absent in her life, as the baying for blood takes over... It's a well worn path and although some don't get their comeuppance they don't yet to parade their idiocy forever.
It seems that she's too stupid to understand the bad ending that goes with the territory. Her blindness, well, it could make her a figure of pathos, though I can't bring myself to be sympathetic to her plight.
She's just too deeply unpleasant about everyone else. And I don't think its sensible to reward such behaviour with gentleness or understanding, I can't quite turn my cheek that far I'm afraid! In real life if I knew her I'd be polite to her face and minimize all occasions where she could spout her hate, and close her down when I couldn't avoid it. So, in her public life that's what I do, I don't read her stuff, follow her on Twitter or see her segments on breakfast tv.
