They all seem to want to kill each other in that bit of the world so let them get on with it. The Saudis are hoping now to sort out Yemen. Let us leave them all to it but control what is done here.

This man is from Ethiopia where 57% of girls have female genital mutilation too. Not a great background. "FGM in 15-49 year olds has decreased by 16%, from 73% (NCTPE,. 1997) to 57% ..."s of 2013, Egypt, Ethiopia and Nigeria had the highest number of women and girls living with FGM: 27.2 million, 23.8 million and 19.9 million respectively".

Joyfulldeathsquad · 27/03/2015 22:53

should but were not talking about 'other acts' this thread is about the father of one if the girls having links with fundamentalists after lying on camera.

Are all Muslims terrorists - NO.
Is there a problem with radicalisation in young muslim people. YES. Are people entitled to be worried/concerned? YES.

It's really weird when a discussion like this gets going as there is always a poster that's says 'but but.... else where on the planet this is happening' . It's designed to shut the topic down.

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 22:54

It's not low at all. Pointing out if someone's of a mind to commit an atrocity race religion gender sexuality nationality political views don't come into it, they will go ahead and do whatever whenever they so wish

No point living in fear

Hillingdon · 27/03/2015 22:54

I live mid way between two areas that have been raided time and again regarding terrorist cells. My DB was caught up in the 7/7 bombings as he works on the tube. This thread is not just about a father who isnt quite the innocent he claimed to be but about FIVE more pupils from the same school as the others having ISIS links.Something is going badly wrong here.

I don't think I am bein irrational at all- just a realist.

hiddenhome · 27/03/2015 22:55

It bloody well is low. Low and inappropriate.

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 22:55

It happens yes

Extremism happens in all religions. All faiths have had their crazy people. Look at Northern ireland, look at the basque region in Spain, look at Sri lanka look at America even! They're everywhere.

No need for the tin foil hats though

thenightsky · 27/03/2015 22:56

Was the Germanwings pilot an islamic terrorist then? I thought he was a suicidal young man with mental health problems. Confused

Hillingdon · 27/03/2015 22:56

Of course religion comes into it!!!! They are doing it in the name of their God!

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 22:57

He was nightsky the point I was making was if someone is of a mind to kill they will do it regardless of their political and religious leanings

hiddenhome · 27/03/2015 22:59
Hmm
Joyfulldeathsquad · 27/03/2015 22:59

So should every one just let the fundamentalists get on with it then should, to not care a jot when flags are getting burnt and hate rallies are being held. Shall the powers that be that are supposed to protecting us, just down tools and let them get on with it?

The pilot and muslim fanatic are two very different things.

Hillingdon · 27/03/2015 23:00

Northern Ireland has moved on but this current threat is very real.

Very inappropriate to bring up the plane crash as well. And in very bad taste.

funnyossity · 27/03/2015 23:01

There has been action taken already by airlines to learn after the recent tragedy. They are not shrugging their shoulders.

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 23:02

No of course they shouldn't be left to get on with it. But neither should we live in fear that matey down the road is going to kill us because he's a follower of a certain religion. Because, as with the plane, if someone is of a mind to do something senseless they'll do it and you'll get little or no warning it's going to happen.

Joyfulldeathsquad · 27/03/2015 23:02

Ah I think should is just bring goady Smile

PoisonPension · 27/03/2015 23:02

Nothing will happen for a couple of months now. I imagine if it's still in the news in the Autumn the new government will bring in legislation Europe will overturn to deal with psychopaths and those they radicalised who are a terrorism threat.

hiddenhome · 27/03/2015 23:03

Bollocks. And stop talking about that plane.

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 23:04

Exactly funny it's about recognising the risk and reacting appropriately to it.

The reaction to 9/11 was to put locks on the doors in the cabins, now it's shown that was a daft idea so the reaction is to reverse that decision.

Point being you deal with what's known and what's probable. The threat could literally come from anywhere not just your local friendly extremist Muslim

Hillingdon · 27/03/2015 23:04

We shouldn't allow a culture to develop. That school in Bethnal Green. You don't think something strange and odd is going on? Really? How many pupils is it now from one school?

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 23:05

I'll talk about what I want to talk about hidden because I think it's relevant to the discussion thank you

funnyossity · 27/03/2015 23:05

That's not what's happened.Hmm

hiddenhome · 27/03/2015 23:06

It is disgusting to bring such a thing up.

funnyossity · 27/03/2015 23:06

I think the chances of an Islamist attack in the UK is high. From other ...ists, less so.

Hillingdon · 27/03/2015 23:09

But time and time again it's coming from the same place and in the name of the same religion. It has been allowed to flourish because no one wants to be seen to be 'picking' on one religious group.

I don't have a religion, brought up a Catholic but didn't like the teachings and how they behaved.

However I see very little evidence of senior Muslim leaders saying anything much at all. They should be completely separating themselves from these events, attacks, movements to other countries etc.

ShouldIworryornothelp · 27/03/2015 23:10

There are dickheads in all walks of life

Extremism is happening. It is happening in the UK and in our schools. It is being talked about

If they want to bugger off to Syria and get killed sod em leave them to it. But as for threats on British soil, it could come from anywhere. Absolutely anywhere. From anyone in any walk of life.
