I am sure most of us support free speech and a lot of us are very pleased that more people than ever in the UK d not believe in God. We are free to express views that religions are wrong and people with religions are free to express their views. We can lampoon and produce cartoons showing Jesus and Mo and all the rest and they can say they do not like it.

adsy · 28/03/2015 17:29

We can lampoon and produce cartoons showing Jesus and Mo and all the rest and they can say they do not like it
and then machine gun people who produced the pictures..........

partialderivative · 28/03/2015 17:37

The authorities in this country appear to be so bloody lax and too afraid of upsetting people instead of doing their jobs properly.

How can the authorities have any chance of monitoring people without being labelled a fascist state

PuttingouthefirewithGasoline · 28/03/2015 18:05

Lem - free time or a good memory!

and they can say they do not like it

One of the problems is the violence - rallies which some Muslim groups start at what we would consider minor infractions. And Yes, the fear of literally being Gunned down.

TwattingNora · 28/03/2015 18:39

This bloke is deserving of one of those memes my teen nephews post on FB all the time

'Supports radical Islamist group- Is surprised when daughter supports radical Islamist group'

What a fucking spanner.

I feel really sorry for normal Muslims that are probably banging their heads off the walls in frustration, every time a stupid cunt like this prances around.

I think we need to look very carefully at this man and his family

That's what I've been saying since the start: everything in these girls' lives needs to be thoroughly investigated - school, family, internet contacts, the lot. And no, I'm not even remotely surprised about the father

To repeat once again, the safety of the vast majority is more important than avoiding offence to a tiny few

PuttingouthefirewithGasoline · 28/03/2015 20:54

But this is what worries me, the authorities didn't seem to know about the background! One would have thought it would be standard and by the time that man got to the committee they would know which side he dressed on.....

Unless its a technique to flush them out? But its worrying, the whole world has seen us apologise over a letter to a radical whose dd has gone to fight.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/03/2015 21:23

the whole world has seen us apologise over a letter to a radical ...

Yes, they have - and the reasoning behind that could explain why the UK is such an attraction to those who want to destroy us

Because the obsession with not "offending" anyone has made us weak

PuttingouthefirewithGasoline · 28/03/2015 21:45

Weak and stupid

That meeting was in my mind quite crucial one would like to think the brains of britain were in that room and instead so many top establishment figures were made to look utterly stupid by a smug solicter with links to extremist groups and form for representing extremists.

I thought one of the fundamental legal lessons was - never ask a question unless you know the ansa to it, ie do you have any idea how the girls got radicalized!

Embarrassing, where were the top barristers etc? Who put that meeting together>?

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/mar/04/jihadi-brides-arent-oppressed-they-join-isis-for-the-same-reasons-men-do

The ‘jihadi bride’ narrative is inherently sexist – it fails to acknowledge the agency of Muslim women, either in conflict or in preventing terrorism

squoosh · 29/03/2015 05:13

Yeah back in the day the Irish ey! It's not like they blew manchester to smithereens is it oh nooooo.

No it isn't.

Some Irish. Very few Irish. We didn't blow Manchester to smithereens as a nation.

squoosh · 29/03/2015 05:28

Wanker.

FiftyShadesOfGreen4205 · 29/03/2015 06:18

I am Irish and I have never blown anyone up. There is some utter stupidity on this thread.

JillyR2015 · 29/03/2015 09:57

The fascinating issue is whether they go abroad to breed and clean the house or to what extent they are allowed to do more. The women seem to have taken over policing rules in Raqqa so they are not bound to hearth and home - they are out there reporting infractions. There are some, not most, women being trained to kill but a lot of them get out there and they dont' have their mother making the meals and cleaning up after them and they are expected to and it's not as much fun as they thought. They discover their God wants women as second class citizens locked away worshipping their man and seeing to his every dull domestic need.

Most UK muslims do not want violence. I live near huge numbers of them and they are hard working normal UK citizens. The problem is that the religions is so fundamentally awful and violent and sexist that if you get idealistic young people they take to its extreme and most pure form - young people always do that - they always start off more extreme about everything and become due to experience of life milder later. They have more scope than Christians do for this at the moment. The new testament goes on and on about love being the greatest thing and letting others have their way, loving your enemy and all that stuff but those aspects of the Koran for some young people seem to be getting ignored. Christianity also has the "render to Ceasar that which is Ceasar's and to God that which is God's" - pay your taxes, obey the laws of the state where you are, be a good citizen. Most Muslims live like that too despite what we read in the press.

All religions have always had a problem with the extent they should be seeking to convert others and take over nations to spread their word however.

Joyfulldeathsquad · 29/03/2015 11:00

squoosh why don't you scroll back and see what I was responding to. My mothers family are from county Kildare which makes me Irish desent. So instead of jumping in and reading what you want to see have an actually look at why I posted it.

I'm not the wanker - YOU are.

PuttingouthefirewithGasoline · 30/03/2015 09:53

apple interesting article thanks

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/03/2015 22:51

It seems the school these girls attended is going to be investigated:

ApplePaltrow · 31/03/2015 00:29

No reports in the guardian about this. They don't even pretend not to be biased...

Hillingdon · 31/03/2015 12:36

Understand the school was rated Outstanding during last OFSTED report. Probably had the right amount of plasters in their first aid kit and allowed all cultures to be embraced!

DontDrinkandFacebook · 31/03/2015 16:58

I rolled my eyes when I saw this story. It does not surprise me in the slightest. I knew the parents had to know more than they were letting on.

swazza · 31/03/2015 17:04

Shame this hasnt hit the headlines and been running in the news quite as loudly as the apologies demanded from the police and criticism of authorities for not doing more.

Hillingdon · 31/03/2015 17:12

I do wonder why there isnt an uproar regarding this. Another example of not wanting to pick on the muslim community perhaps? Apparently the father hasnt been seen for days..
