AIBU re McDonalds

I rarely eat McDonalds, maybe a couple of times a year, went into my local one earlier and ordered a quarter pounder, fries and chocolate shake. I was told no shake, so I said ok, strawberry, they said nope, scraping the bottom of the barrel I then said ok, vanilla. They said no.

What the hell is the world coming to? McDONALDS HAVE STOPPED SELLING MILK SHAKES!!!!! Instead they have smoothies made with yogurt which is yuk and the spawn of the devil.

AIBU to say that this is outrageous and to demand our shakes back? I'm off to write my banner for picketing later.

What are the milkshakes made out if then?
My kids love them when they have a maccy d's.
It's weird. I have no guilt over the food once in a while but I have visions of the milkshake being the unhealthiest drink on the planet! Hmm

Idriscometome · 26/03/2015 07:15

We have McDonald's at least once a month. Who cares if you eat healthily most the time. I bloody love it. And I'm quite posh.

AllThePrettySeahorses · 26/03/2015 07:27

I wish they did a veggie happy meal, then DD could have one. You can get one in BK but they're not very nice.

Pipbin · 26/03/2015 07:56

I see that on the US website there is a disclaimer saying none of there stuff is certified vegi.....

DaveMinion · 26/03/2015 08:06

The quarter pounder with cheese thing is because they used to do quarter pounders without cheese. You always had to say quarter pounder with cheese to get cheese. I still do. Old habits die hard lol.

DaveMinion · 26/03/2015 08:07

I also want a chocolate milkshake now

mummytime · 26/03/2015 08:07

US McD (and lots of other things) have different ingredients to the UK and Europe.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 26/03/2015 08:35

Want McD's fries now! They don't serve them here until 10.30, damn them

McDonald's breakfast wrap. Best invention since sliced bread.

madreloco · 26/03/2015 10:07

Why would you assume that because you personally couldn't get a milkshake one day that McD's worldwide have stopped selling milkshakes? Confused
How dramatic.

Dumpylump · 26/03/2015 11:21

There is still a Wimpy in a small town about 15 miles away from where we live (a much bigger town with a BK, MacDonalds, 2 KFCs, and many other fast food emporiums), we sometimes drive that 15 miles to go to the Wimpy for a treat!
They have waitress service and your food is served on a plate, tis awesome Grin

squoosh · 26/03/2015 11:30

Oh I love McDonald's chocolate milkshake, haven't had one in yonks sadly. Not bothered about McFlurrys but used to love their hot fudge sundaes, not sure if they're still on the menu.

Pipbin · 26/03/2015 17:07

I'm on a bloody diet and now I'm going to have to go to McD's tomorrow Sad

Pipbin · 26/03/2015 17:19

I've just realised that I could have a drive through on the way home from work and DH would be none the wiser.

squoosh · 26/03/2015 17:21

I've never got over them stopping Root Beer.
God, I'm old.

RandomNPC · 26/03/2015 17:26

I agree that BK do better burgers ( better than Five Guys too, IMO). The Big Tasty is quite nice though.

RandomNPC · 26/03/2015 17:29

And it's bloody Monopoly time again. I always fall for that.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 26/03/2015 17:36

I miss root beer. If they did a diet root beer at McD I would be there every week day

TheRealAmandaClarke · 26/03/2015 17:36

What happens at monopoly time?

FenellaFellorick · 26/03/2015 17:41

I hate big macs. They're so massive that'd you'd have to be able to dislocate your jaws like a snake to take a bite!

I used to love their chicken legend but it tastes like shit now. I don't know what they've done to it.

quarter pounder with cheese, fries and a banana milkshake. That'll do me.

bk far nicer though. But they lose points for not having many drive throughs.

damnit. I feel an emergency dash to the car coming on. Grin

RandomNPC · 26/03/2015 17:41

You get little stickers on the food and drinks that you can make into Monopoly sets, and win stuff. I've never won anything bigger than a McFlurry though. It's a bloody fix.
There is a urban myth story that Root Beer was discontinued after a disgruntled employee pooed in the RB tank in the Birmingham Northfields branch in the 80s.
