I rarely eat McDonalds, maybe a couple of times a year, went into my local one earlier and ordered a quarter pounder, fries and chocolate shake. I was told no shake, so I said ok, strawberry, they said nope, scraping the bottom of the barrel I then said ok, vanilla. They said no.

What the hell is the world coming to? McDONALDS HAVE STOPPED SELLING MILK SHAKES!!!!! Instead they have smoothies made with yogurt which is yuk and the spawn of the devil.

AIBU to say that this is outrageous and to demand our shakes back? I'm off to write my banner for picketing later.

Creme egg mcflurry

WorraLiberty · 25/03/2015 19:59

Why do all McDonalds threads on MN start with a disclaimer? Grin

foreverton · 25/03/2015 20:01

I eat there twice a week whilst at work. No disclaimer needed here!!
I burn it off I'm sure:)
Have only worked there for 3 months.....

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 25/03/2015 20:06

Heyyyyyy Derek is back Smile

I must be living in a parallel universe or something because I've never had a McDonalds run out of stuff. But Whoppers are better than Big Macs anyways. best is Five Guys at Covent Garden though

Allstoppedup · 25/03/2015 20:15

Yay, Derek is indeed back!

I'm pregnant and craving blaming baby but the reality is I love MDs a McDonalds burger so damn much right now. I knew I was BU to click on this

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/03/2015 20:18

that is outrageous OP
and the burgers are smaller than they used to be. Angry

silveroldie2 · 25/03/2015 20:21

Dunno Worra but it's true. I know they are pretty crap but figure one very occasionally won't kill me.

I'm pleased that shakes haven't been taken off the menu - it means I don't have to look stupid picketing out on the street and can leave it another six months before my next McD safe in the knowledge that shakes are still sold Grin.

I love a McD's quarter pounder with cheese meal.

But I don't understand the fuss over McFlurrys. They always taste so bland to me.

Tubbytimmy · 25/03/2015 20:29

What I want to know is why did they stop selling root beer and cinnamon doughnuts, they were my faves.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 25/03/2015 20:30

Do they really do vanilla milkshakes in the UK?! I don't think I knew that. Do they still do banana ones in UK McDonald's? They don't do them over here, and they're my favourite. Sad The vanilla ones are an OK substitute though, mostly.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 25/03/2015 20:35

I remember having an argument with a McDonald's employee on another forum after they complained to another McD employee about how stupid their customer was for specifiying 'with cheese' when they ordered a Quarter Pounder (presumably the employee had then called back to the grill for a QP but not said 'with cheese'). Apparently this was stupid of the customer because there is no such thing as a QP without cheese.

The McD employee really, really could not grasp why it wasn't all that peculiar that a customer would think that if there's such a thing as a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, that that would probably suggest there was also one without cheese. I suspect they didn't know what the 'quarter pounder' in Quarter Pounder referred to.

DecaffCoffeeAndRollupsPlease · 25/03/2015 20:35

Vanilla or chocolate milkshake with fries to dip, om nom nom nom.

BitchTradeMark · 25/03/2015 20:36

Sorry but RonaldMconald saying McDs would not miss their custom made me Grin

Whatthefucknameisntalreadytake · 25/03/2015 20:41

EatShitDerek you're back....yay :)

BabyGanoush · 25/03/2015 20:42

I have McD once a week, and they have not had milk shakes for 4 weeks now Sad

Vanilla is my fave.

It is a dreary motorway one which I pass every Monday, in the South, where is your failing one OP?

Whatthefucknameisntalreadytake · 25/03/2015 20:44

They used to do a banana and chocolate milkshake that was amazing

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/03/2015 20:51

Ok. I really need a chocolate milkshake right now. This very second.

waithorse · 25/03/2015 21:13

I want McDonald's now. Sad

Derek, I remember you're McDonald's thread. Welcome back by the way. Thanks

foreverton · 25/03/2015 21:24

Milkshake flavours are, in popularity order... strawberry, chocolate, banana and vanilla:)

TheRealAmandaClarke · 25/03/2015 21:29

I have not had a macdonalds milkshake for over 15 years.

Some McDonalds are owned by McDonalds.
Some are actually franchises.

They sometimes sell slightly different things (and at different prices) depending on whether they are McDonalds or McDonalds franchises.

I love McDonalds. Although I always have something chicken and I've never actually had a beef burger from there Shock

TheOriginalWinkly · 25/03/2015 21:39

The strawberry milkshakes are the nuts for squashing pregnancy heartburn, except the last time I drove to get one I ended up with a nail in my tyre. Bloody milkshake cost me.eighty quid Angry

Pipbin · 25/03/2015 21:43

Still do them: www.mcdonalds.co.uk/ukhome/product_nutrition.drinksshakes.86.strawberry-milkshake.html
You can even check the ingredients here.

The difference between UK and USA shake ingredients is interesting:
