It's not even funny.

Incest? Wtf?

I'm disappointed in the guardian. It raises the question though, substitute the Scottish references for some other nation, would that be acceptable?

We got told repeatedly about the anti English sentiment north of the border last year, during the referendum. Shit like this isn't appearing in Scottish editions of the news papers.

Along with the casual racism lets add sexism into the mix. We have a female first minister. Repeatedly in main stream media I hear people talk about Alex salmond and the snp. He's not the leader of the party or the first minister. Is the press that out if touch with Scottish politics or are they just ignoring Nicola on account of her begin female?

And let's not get started on 'the wee lassie with a tin helmet' comment. But that won't be in any of the English editions will it?

This is what the Scottish Government had to say about the fees policy, prior to the Referendum (its totally wrong in law, and the European Court of Justice, as a court, only deals with cases before it and certainly does not give opinions on political matters - its one of the most incompetent and inept things I've ever read (suggesting that the ECJ "supports" the differential fees policy).

"Scotland's Future: Your Guide to an Independent Scotland", 2013, Art. 238: "We believe that the unique and unprecedented position of a post-independent Scotland will enable us to continue our current policy in a way which is consistent with the principles of free movement across the EU as a whole and which is compatible with EU requirements";

"Art. 239: "Are you confident that the Court of Justice of the EU will support this position? Each member state is free to adopt its own domestic policies, consistent with the objectives of the EU. We believe that our fees policies contribute to student mobility across the wider EU, while addressing the consequences of the unique situation of Scottish independence. In these circumstances we believe that it will be possible to deliver our policy in a way which is compatible with EU requirements".

I don't know what sort of legal advice they are taking, if any (they talked over Professor Adam Tomkins from Glasgow University when he attempted to give advice to one of their committees), but its extremely poor.

Theres also various other examples of output from the Scottish Government which claim that there is some kind of "special circumstances" doctrine that exists which excludes Scotland from various laws, including Treaty law, which has absolutely no foundation in truth, morality or formal sources.

thechandler it is very common for Scottish student to go to university at 17, or even 16.

For DCs with September-February birthdays they will be 17 when they start even if they do 6th year. Some of them will start at 16 after 5th year. They can then do a 3year degree and have a masters by the time they are 20.
