Who wants to be a spy then?

I could be a spy! I'm so little I can hide in tiny spaces

But I get bored easily so would need a tablet and some entertainment while hiding if possible

FryOneFatManic · 05/03/2015 19:30

If you joined up you'd be a civil servant Grin

knackered69 · 05/03/2015 19:30

Ah no - rumbled! does that mean I now have to kill you?

Ohfourfoxache · 05/03/2015 19:31

Maybe the question should be who isn't working for MI5.....

It's the quiche to end all quiches is that Grin

007JamesBond · 05/03/2015 19:32

I might be... Wink

Taz1212 · 05/03/2015 19:33

My father was in the CIA for a while. He was based in Jamaica and was apparently the world's worst spy. He put me off ever wanting to be a spy so should they ever try to recruit me I'll run a mile. Grin

knackered69 · 05/03/2015 19:33

Pmsl! Grin

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 05/03/2015 19:34

Me, me, definitely me!! Have been for years, I'm ace at it.

Erm. Not any more. Apparently I 'can't be trusted to keep quiet'.Hmm

SaucyJack · 05/03/2015 19:34

Me, obviously. I have the charm and the style for starters.

ProbablyMe · 05/03/2015 19:34

I can neither confirm nor deny....

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 05/03/2015 19:34
Grin
Quangle · 05/03/2015 19:35

I was asked. Honestly Grin. I was about to join the CS and prior to starting, got asked to go to a random meeting which I thought was HR.

Spent the small talk part of the meeting chattering away about how I had already handed in my notice at my current job so there hadn't been any problem with getting time off to attend this meeting and isn't it all so much better when everything is open and above board ? .

They still wanted me despite my utter unsuitedness. I said no. Or did I...?

LineRunner · 05/03/2015 19:35

FuckYouCraigAndThatHearse

That could be my name. Of no known provenance.

NutellaStraightFromTheJar · 05/03/2015 19:36

My dad was in MI5. I wouldn't recommend it from what I've heard. Mind you, that was a while back, maybe it's better these days.

TheNothingGirl · 05/03/2015 19:36

Now that is classified information...can I see your clearance?

Bloodymidges · 05/03/2015 19:37

I think the best spies would be the people who just look completely ordinary and nondescript. People who would just never be noticed. I reckon most spying would be entirely dull and lacking in the James Bond type car chases and posh frocks. Sadly.

SylviaPouncer · 05/03/2015 19:37

I bet working for MI5 is really boring. I bet you sit at a desk with a pile of files and have to work through a load of cases and input data.

SirChenjin · 05/03/2015 19:37

I was very excited when I heard this on the R2 news on the way home in the car and was busy planning my new career - until they said that MI5 were looking for "middle aged women" on MN. I may be years old but I am not middle aged I so am Angry Hmm

ThereIsACarInTheKitchen · 05/03/2015 19:37

I know who it is. I'm not telling any of you who it is though...

007JamesBond · 05/03/2015 19:39

Bloodymidges - have you not seen any of the Bond films documentaries about my work? Black tie, booze, guns and sex are the basics of any working day in M15.

Bloodymidges · 05/03/2015 19:41

Oh.. is it? I got it mixed up with night shifts at Sainsburys

Mrsstarlord · 05/03/2015 19:42

I'd make a great spy because I'm a nosy bitch just saying in case anyone is watching. But I'd need to do flexible hours and be based up north so I can be at home for DS after school.

ConferencePear · 05/03/2015 19:43

I've thought for ages I'd be good at it. The older I get the more invisible I become. I should at least be a private investigator.

FryOneFatManic · 05/03/2015 19:47

I was in the MOD, and around 10 years ago saw an ad on the CS jobsite we had back then (it's a bit different now....).

I nearly applied, but the posts were all in London (I am anywhere but).

Salary: £22,000 or thereabouts. That was including the London premium, so not exactly megabucks.
