I know Kanye West is a monumental douchecanoe but this line from his latest song with Paul McCartney is a step too far even for him.

I have CP and I never act like massive bellend Kanye.

AIBU to think Paul McCartney might have refused to put his name to a song that uses that line?

Well, I'm all ears for someone to explain how this is actually a sophisticated satire in song of social attitudes towards disability.

kickass I've moved to New York and I've heard it a bunch here. I've seen it on tv. I've heard adults chide kids with it. In fact, it's seen more as something that small kids say and parents say. It's not like a "cool" word that's "down with the kids" or whatever.

But you know what, I stand corrected. I just took a look at a definition and apparently it is explicitly related to cerebral palsy. I didn't know that until now so I guess that makes it more explicitly offensive. For some reason I thought it was related to having fits, like epilepsy? That's what we all thought when I was growing up anyway. But the OED doesn't lie and they say it's specifically related to cerebral palsy. I still think good luck with the US, but fair enough.

Spastic = CP
simple

So using the word as an insult because it is a related to epilepsy is OK but not because it's related to CP?

Confused
