Listening to LBC today and lots of people where saying she did nothing racist saying "you guys used to be slaves". I'm glad the police are taking this seriously. Warning offensive video

He did pull the race card to try and shut her down. Now the incident with the man in paris pushed off the train was damn racist and horrifying.

nochocolateforlentteacake · 18/02/2015 21:11

In this case the man appears to launch at a woman who did not make a racist comment. He assumed that she was racist and went off on one. Maybe she is and showed her true colour, maybe she was scared and lashed out, who knows? Either way, what he did was suppose that a white woman was protesting that he, as a black person, had touched her.

Black, green or pink polka dotted, I don't like anyone barging into me and giving me hip for it, and I do yell 'oi, watch it' when people do (regardless if gender or skin colour).

I call racism (and sexism) when I see it, but this incident didn't appear to be so - initially. It descended into bollocks when the bloke decided not to apologise or even smile at the woman he walked into, but get arsey with her.

GraysAnalogy · 18/02/2015 21:12

Oh frig off. You're getting the replies you're getting because what you're saying is racist, sexist and quite frankly, stupid. Nothing to do with you being black woman.

creighton · 18/02/2015 21:12

if you think that my posts are racist or the most racist things you have read, you haven't spent too much time on mumsnet. posters are routinely racist about jews, muslims, gypsies, irish people or whoever is being vilified in the news.

TheChandler · 18/02/2015 21:16

Is there any chance you could stop dividing people up into racial groups Creighton? And just look on them as people?

Not everything that happens to you can be put down to racism.

There are very few parts of the world anyone can go without running the risk of being subjected to racism. No matter what race you are.

creighton · 18/02/2015 21:17

she pulled the race card by telling him he was not acting like a human. then presumed to talk about his history. why don't you all fuck off? is that how white people think and talk about black people?

Tsoukalosy · 18/02/2015 21:18

I haven't seen racism against gypsies? I have seen many people here defend them and their way of life.

GraysAnalogy · 18/02/2015 21:20

Creighton click the X.

Tsoukalosy · 18/02/2015 21:21

Why are you trying to segregate people into two columns? People are people. If you launch an angry rant when you don't need to you are not acting like a human being because human beings are civilized. This goes for every one its not a race thing.

FreudiansSlipper · 18/02/2015 21:25

candidkate makes a very good point about what we instinctively know, or rather society allows people to know

candidkate · 18/02/2015 21:25

TheChandler Racism isn't a fairytail and comes in very subtle forms. This lady was probably pushed about 5/6 times before the black guy shoved her. Welcome to The London Underground. She didn't have a problem with them so why him? "Don't touch me" is very different from "excuse me, don't shove" or just "excuse me!"

As I said before you can tell when your boss is being subtly sexist, or if your friend is being subtly bitchy etc etc so why is racism any less of an instinct? I think white people get very uncomfortable sometimes, and that shouting out "victim" and "race card" eases that discomfort.

Again, im disgusted that you are justifying racist comments with "he was aggressive" and "he started it" and "he brought up race first" - SO WHAT - HOW DOES THAT MAKE BEING RACIST OKAY? SHALL I CALL YOU ALL WHITE BITCHES BECAUSE I FEEL "OFFENDED" BY YOUR MUMSNET POSTS?

NO

THOUGHT NOT!!!!!!

creighton · 18/02/2015 21:26

you said that you come from a very persecuted minority so you separated your people into a group apart from others. you said that practically everyone else on earth has tried to eradicate your people. are you not dividing people, or is it okay when you do it?

GraysAnalogy · 18/02/2015 21:29

creighton there's a difference between her mentioning her origin, and you screaming 'you whites'

And I'd like to just point out I haven't excuse the woman's actions at all. I've just picked up on people's comments on this thread that have been out of order.

MaidOfStars · 18/02/2015 21:29

I think white people get very uncomfortable sometimes, and that shouting out "victim" and "race card" eases that discomfort

Can you clarify this comment? What do 'white people get very uncomfortable' about?

Tsoukalosy · 18/02/2015 21:30

I didn't say practically everyone on earth. Please don't put words into my mouth. Of course we can talk about our own people and others but its not ok to say x people are like this and y people are like that. My people try to intergrate a lot into the societys around them. It doesn't make anyone better than them . People all have hearts. Shouldnt we work with love of mankind to stop people getting angry against each other? Not hate.

TheChandler · 18/02/2015 21:31

candikate the man also made a racist statement, and appeared to try to provoke the woman he was harassing. Why are you ignoring that?

Or do you think racism only applies to certain races?

I agree that racism can either be subtle or overt, and that many times it can be hard to prove, but that's also the case with many things in life. But when you use it as an excuse to harass, provoke and be racist yourself, people will pretty quickly see through that.

Maybe you think people (in general) are more stupid than they actually are?

And everyone said her slavery comment was wrong so why are you so angry? Why is her wrong more wrong than their wrong?

Tsoukalosy · 18/02/2015 21:33

I said wrong too many times...wrong

pippitysqueakity · 18/02/2015 21:34

colored people? did I really just read that?

creighton · 18/02/2015 21:37

it's a pity you did not stay lost for words

does anyone need permission from you to be angry?

Tsoukalosy · 18/02/2015 21:40

Anyway shouldn't everyone join forces together against bigger issues... Like aliens invading?

creighton · 18/02/2015 21:40

an answer to what?
