To want to kill this cat?

Looked out my window this afternoon while cleaning (and still feeling smug about it Grin) and saw next door's cat shitting on my garden [mad]

I went out to chase it away to find that it clearly isn't the first time it's done this!! Now my garden needs a mow as it hasn't been done since november (bloody rain) so I haven't seen the sea of shit that now hides in my grass. Pissed off doesn't even come close, I live in the country FFS and surrounded by fields so it's not like it's lacking in places to have a crap [mad]

How can I stop it shitting in my garden? My toddler has just started playing in the garden again now the weather is a bit better, I really don't want him to go blind!!! (ok so a bit melodramatic but still!)

inthedark grow up, you know what I meant.

As I said, my cats are indoors but with an outdoor enclosure (to protect them from arseholes).

We back onto a huge field frequented by dog owners. It is FULL of dog shit.

Am I pissed off with the dogs? No - that would be ridiculous because IT ISN'T THEIR FAULT. Would I lay poison down for them? No way, because I am not a total cunt.

I do however think the owners are selfish fuckers.

Amen sista!

What a depressing thread.

The cat haters sound absolutely vile people and probably bully their dogs too.

Animal lovers love animals not just some animals.

As for shit well we live in the outskirts if a city and have foxes, badgers, deer in our garden. If course they poo on the lawn but we scoop it up. I would much rather have the animals alive and free to roam.

Love dogs and cats too.

How truly horrible some people in here sound. How violent.

It's a fact that cruelty to animals goes hand in hand with cruelty to children or try vulnerable.

Scary nasty people.

When I was owned by three cats they all stayed inside, with an occasional play out while I was watching. They were fine - honest! Psycho cat died at 12, largely due to the abuse he received before we got him I suspect, but evil cat and malevolent cat reached 18/19. Average age of death of a cat allowed to roam freely is around 3 years, apparently, but I can't find where I got this info so am open to correction.

I am going to be trying to grow salads where the cats are currently tunneling to Australia. Small spiky sticks worked well in the past, as it affects their comfort.

Watching a cat dig up your flower bed again does raise the stress levels, but this thread is getting a bit odd. I wonder how many of the anti cat posters are like my father - the threats he made were blood curdling but he cuddled the cats shamelessly.

fluffyraggies · 13/02/2015 07:59

I agree that cats should be seen by law as all other animals that are owned as pets are, and not be allowed to cause nuisance to others. ie: allowed to roam free and carry on it's life on other peoples property. Be that hunting, shitting, fighting etc.

However i don't think that will ever happen.

MythicalKings · 13/02/2015 08:00

It's a fact that cruelty to animals goes hand in hand with cruelty to children

Proof? Or just frothing?

Most cat dislikers wouldn't be cruel to them. The shit in the garden is nowhere near as annoying as the arrogance of cat owners who, literally, do not give a shit how much they inconvenience their neighbours.

JoanHickson · 13/02/2015 08:01

I lost a harmless cat this week. It never killed anything. I have had evil cats before who loved to kill mice. Like people not all cats are horrible.

I guess it was somebody like op who squashed my cat under their car and left it in pain and suffering.

The cat haters sound absolutely vile people and probably bully their dogs too.

I don't hate cats, I just hate the owners who don't take responsibility for preventing their cat from shitting in my garden.
I dislike dogs more than I dislike cats and I hate dog owners who allow their dogs to foul on the street and don't clean it up.
I wouldn't harm a cat.
I would only harm a dog if it was harming me or one of my children.

monkeyfacegrace · 13/02/2015 08:04

^^ this.

I'd never ever hurt an animal for fun.

But why why why should I allow cats to come onto my property?!

Cats are fine as pets. When they are kept as pets. Inside.

Lovemycatsandkids · 13/02/2015 08:06

It's a proven fact look it up.

And the frothing and violence is coming from the animal haters.

There's no such thing as a car hater/animal lover.

If you hate one animal you hate them all. Obviously some on here shouldn't be owning animals at all.

Thru are clearly cruel and probably use their dogs to appear tougher and harder.

Pathetic bullies underneath.

FindoGask · 13/02/2015 08:07

You're a broken record, monkeyface. No-one said you have to be happy with cat shit in your garden.

Stillyummy · 13/02/2015 08:08

Why not invest in an ultrasonic cat scarer op? Problem solved.

Inthedarkaboutfashion · 13/02/2015 08:08

I guess it was somebody like op who squashed my cat under their car and left it in pain and suffering.

What did you expect them to do? I don't think they would have run over your cat purposefully.
I wouldn't stop to help a cat that I had run over if I had my children with me because one of my children has a severe allergy to pet hair and his health is more important to me than helping an injured cat.

Lovemycatsandkids · 13/02/2015 08:09

Joan so sorry for that. Flowers

blackcats73 · 13/02/2015 08:10

Monkey , some may say that dogs are anti social they bark a lot and make round her stinky by weeing everywhere .

Next time I see a dog bark or wee outside my house I'm going to string it up beat it with a kipper.

Tame Wolves have no place barking and marking their territory in my city.

JoanHickson · 13/02/2015 08:11

He got out of his car looked at what he did and drove off. He could have knocked on a door. It's a small quiet side road. No other traffic.

I equate a human being not stopping to help an injured animal, any animal that needs help, on a par with not helping an injured child.

MythicalKings · 13/02/2015 08:13

It's a proven fact look it up.

No it isn't. You look it up.

FindoGask · 13/02/2015 08:15

so sorry Joan. I found my neighbour's cat in the road who had been run over and left there, poor little darling - though in this case I like to think the cat wouldn't have known much about it - there was no blood; she looked almost untouched.

JoanHickson · 13/02/2015 08:15

Fuss I very much doubt your sorry you are very cold in your post. I have never hidden a thread before.

Lovemycatsandkids · 13/02/2015 08:16

Oh god joan what an absolute bastard.

I brought up all my children to respect and love wild life and animals. I find it incredible that other parents don't, so raise cold frightening adults.

patienceisvirtuous · 13/02/2015 08:19

Animal abuse and violence on humans is proven to be linked. Google it.

Ever heard of the MacDonald triad? Google that too.

Lovemycatsandkids · 13/02/2015 08:21

by law you don't have to stop if you hit a cat

What a lovely warm sentiment there.

No you don't it's true. You don't have to help any human or animal by law. You can indeed walk away, drive off.

Thank god most people don't live their lives like this or what a truly dreadful world it would be.
