There are three guys who I always switch stations when they come on, and they come on a lot. They are the three that had the biggest sales last year and all sing through their noses and are average / below average looking.

Well to be honest I think bland crap sells, like mild cheddar is the most popular cheese and Carling is the most popular beer.

Oh come on, some of the most popular musicians of the 60's, 70's and 80's weren't handsome devils to start with and ended up with faces like bags of spanners.

I have a particularly large soft spot for the man-child Ed Sheeran and have disgusted myself recently by feeling that old cliche 'if I was ten years younger' applies to him. When I was a kid it was only really old folk who said stuff like that. Apparently I'm now really old.

God, yes. Though I'm not the best judge. When you're raised just after arguably the best two decades for rock music anything new will pale into insignificance.

They're choosing it. Back in my yoof you could buy what was in Smiths or the funny little record shop and listen to hardly any radio stations.
Now people can download practically anything so if they're choosing this stuff it's really by choice. So don't feel sorry for them

Depending how much you like music, you are in the spectrum of being fed new music via the major commercial channels, or your a hipster who bought there first ep and saw them in the dog and duck and feel they have sold out.

Both my teenagers are lusting like nobody's business about Hozier. I haven't dared tell them that their mother (and several of their friends' mother's too) are also lusting dreadfully after him. Sexy and a great song... what's not to like?

I think music is MUCH better now. I can remember hating pretty much everything in the 1980's aside from a bit of rock. The70's and 90's had some interesting orginal stuff but nothing compared to today.

The kids don't listen to radio. They've got the whole of the internetted world to explore, rather than the few compliant artists chosen by big corporations. YABU. I hear far more diversity and creativity now I can choose who to listen to.
