Should have cleaner/tidier houses seeing as they don't work? I'm a sahm with severe disabilities (supported by dh - no hand outs) & I keep my house clean.

Ps this isn't just about people on benefits - it just so happens I'm watching it on TV now.

Arf arf.... I seriously couldn't give a shit what someone's skirting board looks like. This is not what this thread is about.

ThePrincessBride · 29/01/2015 22:26

mrs you have definitely not failed as a person or as a mother! Your right to put your energy where it is needed most, that makes you a smart cookie and a good mama. I remember my childhood home being clean to the point you weren't allowed to do anything. Its sad to see children living like that, I agree there is no need for pure filth but if its a little untidy and lived in that's homely. I know where I would rather have grown up x

Got distracted by another thread on AIBU its upsetting.

ghostspirit · 29/01/2015 22:26

silent yeah i get your point. sometimes i guess it does come to that. when i wrote that i was thinking about someone i know. that does it all the time. never has any food in the house but does not really have a good reason not to. but i do understand if its a last choice thing

expatinscotland · 29/01/2015 22:28

Exactly, Lupin. DD1 got a free laptop from CLIC. She died before she could use it.

TheFairyCaravan · 29/01/2015 22:31

Why's the OP moaning about people getting benefits? She said she gets an amount that doesn't exist ofDLA as does one of her children.

She's a bloody hypocrite or something else! Wink

ThePrincessBride · 29/01/2015 22:33

heat what is this thread about?

ladylupin I am tired of living on my own also hence why I am on MN for some company, loneliness is a terrible thing! Sad but true. Oh I've had a teenager so that's fine. So that would be 5 children (my eldest has moved out), 2 women and a goat. We would be known as the lesbians on benefits then Grin.

ghost I know what you are saying and there is no excuse is there if there are little people in the house.

SoonToBeSix · 29/01/2015 22:36

I loveChristmas I didn't feel sorry for Lisa. Her dh is disabled not lazy.

ghostspirit · 29/01/2015 22:37

i had curried goat and rice the other night it was super yummy

LadyLupin · 29/01/2015 22:40

Ah. That would not be good. Not that I have anything against lesbians (Olivia Benson from SVU and Pink are pretty damn hot in my opinion) but because it would affect the bedroom allowance. And we need the extra space for a play room or an office (to browse entitledto.com just to check we aren't missing anything). A room with a lock on the door to hide from the children etc. children can all share one room, it's character building. My youngest DC is entitled to his own room, so that's one for him, one for me, one for ds1&2, one for ds3, one for you, please tell me you have a girl, we lose a bedroom otherwise. 6 bedroomed house. Get in.

But at least you got a laptop expat. I mean some people on MN think that's the be all and end all... I am very sorry about your little girl, I followed your threads about her on here and on FB. Life is unbelievably cruel.

ThePrincessBride · 29/01/2015 22:41

expat I've just saw your comment. I am so sorry xxx

I love how the majority have turned it into a benefits bashing thread when it's not, it's about how manky the houses were and they were!
I'm no domestic goddess but fuck me I'd be mortified to let cameramen/women into that shit tip, you'd at least pick the rubbish up! In a couple of the houses the benches were tidy or toys put away etc but you could see the place was filthy. Years of grime, doors hanging off, damp/mould on the walls, the floor that has never seen the Hoover or a mop in years.
I bet most of the people who are saying it wasn't dirty really wouldn't live in it and would judge if they turned up and it was a friend or neighbours house, there'd be cries of call social services or they live in houses with the same lack of cleanliness/hygiene

Regulars of MN can you please tell me how I know if a post is genuine or not? How do I check previous posts from the OP by typing their name into search? Sorry explain in a sec.

teawamutu · 29/01/2015 23:04

I truly don't understand how people can get all worked up about someone with disabilities being helped to lease a car, but never mention millionaires of pensionable age (Bernie Ecclestone, for one) still being entitled to a winter fuel payment.

Why is that? If they want to moan about government handouts for people who don't need it...?

LadyLupin · 29/01/2015 23:05

Are you checking me out before committing to a house move PrincessBride Grin

LadyLupin · 29/01/2015 23:06
