to wish that people would keep their fecking filthy dogs to themselves?

Lots of people on the school run (mainly mothers), in my area, take their dogs with them for some unfathomable reason. Most mornings DS3 and I have to dodge the fucking things as the owner has them on a long lead and they block the path with them and allow them to walk up to people.

This morning we had one pig ignorant woman let her dog almost trip DS over by the dog walking at his heels.

Another woman standing on the path talking to someone over the road, dog lead blocking the whole path, lets her dog jump up at my shopping bags, I have to ask her to move her dog.

Then further up, massive dog doing a big stinking shit (FFS who wants to smell that first thing in the morning in the street) dog lead again blocking the whole path, while woman chattering away on her phone, dog then comes to sniff at my bags.

ABU to say to people 'keep your filthy animal to yourself' and kick the next one who invades into my personal space.

I don't particularly like dogs but I'll take them on the school run over kids on fucking scooters.

MidniteScribbler · 13/01/2015 11:15

The charms of the OP are why some people prefer dogs to most humans.

Writerwannabe83 · 13/01/2015 11:16

I'm not a 'dog person' and I would never have one myself but I have to admit that I love looking at other people's dogs Grin I can't help but smile when I see happy little dogs enjoying their walk, there's just something really nice about it. I particularly love watching the speed at which a little dog's legs can run in order to keep up with their owner, it's just too cute Grin

TBH I have not had any patience with dogs or their owners ever since a massive Bull Mastiff decided to charge me, almost knocking the pram over, from the top of a hill while I was dodging dog shit walking with DS3 as a baby in his forward facing pram. The owner was at the top of the hill, a good 50 metres away, and when she approached me and I told her she should keep it on a lead, she told me the dog had the same right to be there as me, it was being just being friendly, it would never have hurt us and I was a bitch for not wanting her doggie woggie to jump up at me.

I would say that considerate dog owners are in the minority rather than the majority.

You do seem a little over wrought unhinged angryabout this bubble. Perhaps speak to the school about putting a bit in the school newsletter about consideration with dog walking on the school run. Don't go around kicking dogs. It's more likely to get you bitten than prove a point and its very cruel. Speak to the owner first and ask them firmly to move their dog. You can do this from a distance before you even get to the point of passing the dog.

BubbleGirl01 · 13/01/2015 11:25

Not particularly stressed thanks. Just having a pointless rant about something that pissed me off this morning, similarly to 95% of the other posters in this topic Hmm.

Yanbu! I hate dogs...I literally feel physically sick when I look at them which I know is an extreme reaction but they leave me cold....I saw one mum let her dog shit on the pavement outside the school and not pick it up.

OttiliaVonBCup · 13/01/2015 11:37

Err yes my DC and I have more right to walk on the pavements and use parks than a stinking animal that someone chooses to have as a pet.

I have just as much right to be there as you and your DCs and my fecking filthy dog comes with me.

So there!

formerbabe · 13/01/2015 11:39

Human beings have more right than a dog to be on the pavement as I pointed out to a disgusting woman who refused to move her dogs to the side and suggested my children walked in the gutter...

diddl · 13/01/2015 11:42

Maybe the owners take the dogs on the school run because they then take them straight on for a walk?

But you know, either walk round a dog or tell the owner that it's in the way so that they can get it out of the way!

Cos kids are never a bloody nuisance on paths!

SistersOfPercy · 13/01/2015 11:43

Personally I don't think the dog is the only hairy thing on this thread Wink

ToffeeLatteplease · 13/01/2015 11:43

YANBU

I now have a little boy petrified of dogs because bloody dog owners can't understand why it might petrify a child in a wheelchair (or if he is out somewhat unstable on his feet and unable to run away quick enough) to have a dog (friendly or otherwise) bounding up to him.

I often return them by the collar to the owner with an "is this yours?" IF I can find the owner.

My children don't approach a dog without asking first, kindly do the same

BubbleGirl01 · 13/01/2015 11:45

The comparison of dogs to children from the canine 'fundamentalists' on here are shocking. No wonder society has gone to the dogs Hmm.

Big Fat Hairy Things.

Total Disgrace.

Should be taken out and shot.

...AND I don't mean Dogs.

EnoughIsEnough2015 · 13/01/2015 11:49

YANBU.
I'm allergic to them and my DD was bitten on the face by one. Loads of dog shit outside of the school gates and many parents hanging around with dogs not caring if people are scared of them and blocking the main gates.

Wailywailywaily · 13/01/2015 11:51

I'm with SistersofPercy on this one

hopingforamiracle · 13/01/2015 11:52

A lot can be said about people who are unkind to animals. OP, you sound vile. My dog is my best friend and if anyone hurt him, I'd fucking kill them.

GobblersKnob · 13/01/2015 11:53

Agree that the comparison of dogs to children is insane and really quite insulting to dogs.....

"I don't particularly like dogs but I'll take them on the school run over kids on fucking scooters."

yes!!!! Now those are things I'd like to see broken up for scrap discouraged!

OP - have you tried camomile tea. It is very calming.

Wailywailywaily · 13/01/2015 11:56

OP there is a lot of anger in your life, I think you should consider counselling.

I know!
DDog's never thrown a tantrum in a pub.
Children on the other hand...

crumblebumblebee · 13/01/2015 11:56

My dog only craps on the grass but my son once shat on the pavement. :( :( :( :( so confused!!!

TheChandler · 13/01/2015 11:57

I feel sorry for dogs owned by people who can't be bothered to train them properly. No, its not like having a scooter, or a bike or smoking cigarettes. Its a real live animal, with a personality and emotions. And if you don't train it not to approach people, then life is going to be very confusing for it when people like me who are a bit afraid of loose dogs have to shout at it to leave you alone. And yes, I will kick a dog if it is snarling at me and threatning to bite, whether you, the owner, thinks dogs' rights are more important than humans.

But why have a dog if you have no interest in spending time training it? Surely spending time with your dog is one of the pleasures of having them and building your relationship with them? And its so obvious that some dogs barely have any training or socialisation for want of a better word of how to behave in a public place, if I can shout sharply at them to back off from jumping up on me and their own bloody owner can't do the same!

Poor dogs. There is a park near me where I don't actually go any more because of the number of loose dogs running around out of control there. Goodness knows what it must be like for the dogs - theres regular incidents of dogs attacking other dogs.
