If it would be, please ignore this.

If not, here it is. www.cmsolicitors.co.uk

Plenty of contact details too. :-)

He. Has. Not. Served. His. Time.

(for those who have difficulties with the concept of being on licence)

BOFster · 07/01/2015 15:13

He's still serving time, out on licence, Em. Have you read any of the articles linked?

EmDuffers · 07/01/2015 15:14

What exactly do you want him to be doing though?

YonicSleighdriver · 07/01/2015 15:15

You are right, Em. The only alternative to a five year sentence (of which he has served half) and a football contract IS the death penalty.

How very wise you are, for a man made of straw.

ilovesooty · 07/01/2015 15:16

Not playing professional football. He can take whatever job his future father in law offered him for all I care.

GoringBit · 07/01/2015 15:16

No, EmDuffers, I don't want the death sentence reintroduced, but I also don't want the convicted rapist Ched Evans to be seen as some sort of local hero or role model. Which, the second he scores his first goal, he will be, to a number of people.

londonrach · 07/01/2015 15:16

He hasnt served his time! He is out of licence and could be sent back if he broke certain conditions. If he was a teacher he wouldn't be allowed back into that profession as the same with other professions of influence.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/01/2015 15:16

Em, well, he could have taken up the offer his prospective father in law offered him at his firm. Well, until he offered to pay for Ched to play at Oldham that is.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/01/2015 15:18

Oh, and the 'Ched Evans, he fucks who he wants' chants have been a fixture at Sheffield United games since he got out.

Lovely.

MaliceInWinterWonderland78 · 07/01/2015 15:20

Just out of interest, will the view of anyone on here change in the event that the CCRC find in CE's favour and the conviction is found to be unsafe? (I'm not saying that it is, just posing the question)

spence82 · 07/01/2015 15:20

Difference between teachers and footballers though is footballers aren't in a position of trust.

As long as there is no legal reason why he can't be a professional footballer then I have no objection to it.

WeirdCatLady · 07/01/2015 15:21

Bof, I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at that clip.

The whole situation is so surreal. Surely in a decent society this cannot be true. I am utterly disgusted with Oldham.

YonicSleighdriver · 07/01/2015 15:22

The CCRC cannot find his conviction unsafe, malice. They can allow him permission to appeal.

YonicSleighdriver · 07/01/2015 15:23

Spence, would you object to Rolf Harris appearing on TV once he's served his sentence?

EmDuffers · 07/01/2015 15:24

But hes not in a profession of influence. He won't work on his own with children or vulnerable adults.

What do you think a child will say if he scores a goal? Wow I want to grow up and be a rapist?

londonrach · 07/01/2015 15:24

I wish they do this appeal quickly!

UsuallyLurking1 · 07/01/2015 15:25

If footballers are people who influence the morals of your children then you are a very poor parent indeed.

Charles Barkley "I am not a role model, just because I can dunk a basketball doesn't mean I should raise your kids"

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/01/2015 15:25

Of course Yonic! I mean RH is a nonce, innit.... Can't have nonces in the public eye, only rapists. Max Clifford should also just ease back into business.

VictorineMeurent · 07/01/2015 15:25

I've posted on their facebook page ( sponsors) saying I wouldn't use a firm of solicitors who support the employment of a convicted rapist in a role where they would be role model to young people.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 07/01/2015 15:26

Well, there's no way my DC will go and see a convicted rapist, a rapist out on license, play football.

It certainly makes a mockery of the stupid idea that footy is a family game.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/01/2015 15:27

Em, what adults are saying is, and this is without him scoring a goal, or even being part of the club anymore....

"Ched Evans, he fucks who he wants to"

How do you propose to explain that to a child on the stands?

UsuallyLurking1 · 07/01/2015 15:27

I'm sure they are winding up the company in response to your post as I type......

ChocLover2015 · 07/01/2015 15:27

I didn't follow the original trial, but reading up on it , his conviction seems a bit harsh really. I understood that 'drunken consent was still consent'? Is this not the case.CE Evans said she consented, his pal said she consented and the woman says she can't remember anything . I can't see how this can be decided to be ' non-consensual' beyond all reasonable doubt.Especiually since his friend got off.
The pair of them are mysogenist, nasty pigs that's for sure, but rape? Hmm not so sure

JohnFarleysRuskin · 07/01/2015 15:28

I'm a good parent, cheers mate.

Are you seriously telling me that because I don't want to see a rapist play football, that I'm a very poor parent indeed?

BOFster · 07/01/2015 15:28

He's nowhere near getting an Appeal, or even leave to apply for one, as the CCRC has turned him down twice already, Malice.
