If it would be, please ignore this.

If not, here it is. www.cmsolicitors.co.uk

Plenty of contact details too. :-)

Actually, to be clear, I would hope that male employees and clients of CM are equally taking note of their extraordinary attitudes.

chockbic · 07/01/2015 13:52

He ought to be carrying out some form of community service, not feathering his own nest.

Even if you take his conviction out of the equation, his morality or lack of is disgusting.

Shame on Oldham too.

Couldn't resist

I don't see a single reply to my post from someone claiming to be a lawyer, please point it out.

My post did not condone the crime at all, it's abhorrent. my post condones the right of employers to choose who they employ and the customers of that employer to make their own decisions. Id be quite happy to see empty stands at oldham as a consequence, but we shouldn't live in a society where the most effective Internet campaign makes the society's decisions.

It doesn't take much of a Google to see that CM has an criminal law and prison law team which is largely female. They will have been involved in this decision.

UsuallyLurking1 · 07/01/2015 14:04

Those people who think I work for CM are insane. Have I been a member on here posting for some time just in preparation for MN outrage!?

limitedperiodonly · 07/01/2015 14:05

Now I've read the Northern Echo column Willferrellisactuallykindahot linked to, I think it should not only be allowed to be printed, it should be more widely disseminated.

It is blackly hilarious.

So here again are the ramblings of a pompous fuckwit on a regional newspaper of vanishingly small influence who may have partaken of a few sherbets before stabbing his chubby finger on Send.

LineRunner · 07/01/2015 14:05

Erm... Chundarella said she was a lawyer. To you. A page back.

ilovesooty · 07/01/2015 14:06

I hope Oldham Athletic are relegated and go into administration within the year.
With any luck Mike Ashley and Sports Direct will feel the effects if they persist in supporting this morally bankrupt club.

FreudiansSlipper · 07/01/2015 14:07

changes are made through people campaigning

this is a way to campaign now that previous generations did not have

people sign these campaigns because it is something they believe in why should it not have an impact

UsuallyLurking1 · 07/01/2015 14:07

Missed chunderella, fair point. Although she was not

Makes note to amend my dictionary definitions of 'a few' to 'one'

Edit. Not on my screen when I posted. An x post i believe.

Delighted to see he has been given a contract. Now let's see it play out properly and sponsors and customers can define whether or not they have made the right decision.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/01/2015 14:11

I'm sure you are.

FreudiansSlipper · 07/01/2015 14:11

I do not shop at sports direct

how can I show that I do not support this if there is nothing I can personally withdraw

MissPenelopeLumawoo2 · 07/01/2015 14:12

Oh no, looking at that link on the fixtures OA my town's team are listed as playing against them. Away match thankfully. But I should not have to be thinking like that- is a scumbag rapist going to be coming to town at some point and paraded around like some sort of hero?

There is a sickening picture I have seen, of some fans cheering him on, with a big banner and a welsh dragon on it. I can't find it to link but it is a horrible image of hero worship. Maybe some opposition fans will turn up with 'rapist' banners??

slug · 07/01/2015 14:13

Not a lawyer apparently. I suspect it's another one of those professions where the label "real" [insert profession here] is only applied when the person is in possession of a penis.

Ohfourfoxache · 07/01/2015 14:13

Urgh, don't rise to it - it's not worth it. Anyone with an ounce of sense can see that this is a disappointing decision at best.

It will be very interesting to see the backlash from this.

ilovesooty · 07/01/2015 14:14

Freudian Do you use any of the firms associated with Karl Massey that I linked to? Is your bank under the Bank of Scotland umbrella?

UsuallyLurking1 · 07/01/2015 14:14

Yes, that routinely happens. Whenever an away side comes to town they almost always parade at least 3 of their high profile players through the home sides town centre......

Confused
londonrach · 07/01/2015 14:17

If he signs which club will play against him. Oldham might find on one will play them. Its a recipe for trouble. Can you just imagine what the other supporters will be shouting if they were playing oldham. Ce and oldham havent thought this through!

limitedperiodonly · 07/01/2015 14:19

I'm checking out of this thread now, far more important things going on in the world.

Quite right UsuallyLurking1. There has been a terrorist outrage in Paris today.

Surely there is a website somewhere begging for your insight into Muslims which I'm sure would be as interesting as your views on rapists.

BTW you promised to check out of this thread nearly an hour ago and you haven't kept your word.

It's not your fault that you keep being lured back. That's women for you. Shameless temptresses, aren't we?

FreudiansSlipper · 07/01/2015 14:20

oh yes M&S and occasionally Tesco's

it was more in reply to UsuallyLurking1

internet campaigning should make an impact

TeWiSavesTheDay · 07/01/2015 14:21

I'm pleased that Verlin have withdrawn their sponsorship. Good for them.

OA. Not so much.

ilovesooty · 07/01/2015 14:21

Professor Brian Cox is an Oldham Athletic supporter. I wonder what his views are?

They have a Ladies team as well. Goodness knows how they're feeling.

spence82 · 07/01/2015 14:21

London Rach I'm sure they will be expecting chants from supporters. I remember going to a game when Lee Hughes played and he had "murderer" chanted at him the whole game.
