Whatever happened to the poster

GraysAnalogy · 02/01/2015 23:49

Who's friend had a DP in america and she went over there to have her baby and the OP was worried her friends DP and his mum were planning on keeping the baby?

Posting in AIBU because it was in here for a while and a few might remember.

To make this more interesting, post your own 'what happened's to try and get updates!

OP posts:
hollyisalovelyname · 05/01/2015 16:09

BOF it had crossed my mind.

redexpat · 06/01/2015 10:03

Thought of a couple more. Applecrumble who was dismissed for gross misconduct for internet misuse and flexitime misuse, even on her days off.

Another employment one. The poster who had booked a holiday in the usa to visit her dying father. Her work asked her to cancel at very short notice to cover sort staffing i think, she refused as she would have been out of pocket, they wouldnt reimburse her, accused jer of trying to blackmail them. Then they sent her an email saying she could leave early that day, then deleted the email andfired her for leaving early. They didnt know she had backed up the email.

PrimalLass · 06/01/2015 12:08

That last one was resolved but I think the thread was deleted for legal huge payout reasons.

Blueandwhitelover · 07/01/2015 18:47

What happened to the woman whose supervisor didn't email her back to wish her a Happy New Year? She sounded like she was way more invested in him than he was in her.

Blueandwhitelover · 07/01/2015 18:48

and did we ever find out what happened to the football coach in Africa ?

RumbelowSale · 07/01/2015 19:51

blueandwhite', wasn't there talk of other threads with v. Similar scenarios, posters using the same language, manner of writing?

V.perturbing if they were trueHmm

Did the thread just disappear?

ZombieApocalypse · 07/01/2015 19:59

I reckon it must have been in chat and disappeared after 3 months. Either that or the OP reckoned it outed her too much and asked for it to be pulled. Funny, that thread is always the one everyone wants to know the outcome for!

redexpat If it's the same one I'm thinking of, the OP had the company bang to rights and with legal help, got them to pay up. I remember an update post thanking everyone and saying she'd been successful in nailing the company.

redexpat · 07/01/2015 20:01

Oh good! That pleases me greatly. Justice prevails!

cuphat · 07/01/2015 20:12

I would also like to know what happened with doryzurich and her son. The mum whose teenage son got his girlfriend pregnant. I really felt for her and hope that it all worked out ok for them.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 07/01/2015 22:09

Oh elfycat whySad you seem so determined the last update I saw

ThereIsACarInTheKitchen · 07/01/2015 22:18

Anyone remember the thread where the OP's husband had a grudge against the pet guinea pig and was always trying to argue with it? It was quite a while ago now but I've never been able to find it again so I assume it was deleted for some reason or other.

EauPea · 07/01/2015 23:04

UpTheChimney I often think about "Getting". I hope she and the dc's are safe.

UptheChimney · 08/01/2015 08:24

cuphat I remember that I lurked on that thread but I think it got pulled because the girl's family found out/saw it, and threatened all sorts of legal action.

If it was a genuine thread I was so full of admiration for the mother/poster, who was determined to try to do the right thing by her son, and his gf. She was amazing & fair, but desperate.

slithytove · 08/01/2015 08:32

zombie can yu please link to the update thread? I must have missed that one

ZombieApocalypse · 08/01/2015 09:15

slithy I just looked and can't find it but I can't remember who the OP was.

PrimalLass · 08/01/2015 22:29

It was deleted, I think, as I said below, because it would jeopardise the payout.

slithytove · 09/01/2015 02:05

Nvm, thanks zombie

Primal, an update thread wouldn't be deleted for that reason once her case was over.

hippo123 · 09/01/2015 08:53

I always remember the lady who came home to discover that her dh had taken absolutely everything of his out of their home and left her, totally out of the blue, even though they had been ttc for a while. I think I'm right in saying that it turned out he had got another women pregnant. Then the op found out that she was also pregnant with his baby and was unsure what to do. I hope she is happy now no matter what decision she made.

highlighta · 09/01/2015 09:03

The Benin football coach one. I am sure OP must have had her new baby by now.

The lady who lived in London but was originally from SA who DH had an affair and insisted on keeping the Magimix in the divorce settlement. I hope she is ok and has moved on now.

CiderwithBuda · 09/01/2015 09:04

Hippo - she ended up moving her threads but was around for quite a while. Not sure if she still is. She had a baby boy and was doing well last I read.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 09/01/2015 09:12

The guinea pig one was deleted as it was a troll.

SolomanDaisy · 09/01/2015 09:22

're. Applecrumble, she didn't update on her original thread, but there were a couple of other posts I was pretty sure we're her. In the original thread she was suspended for internet and flexible misuse. There was another post where a poster had been disciplined for this and returned to work after suspension, so they found she had done it but didn't sack her. That sounds reasonable as it seemed from the original thread that their evidence was flawed but she had not been entirely reasonable about her flexi recording. There was then another poster with a very similar name in a similar sounding organisation who was being made redundant. Again this makes sense, as lots of local authorities have disciplinary record as part of their criteria for redundancy selection.

HellKitty · 09/01/2015 09:28

The football coach one and the Booths/GPN one. I also sometimes wonder whether the op in one thread ever managed to get her OH to wear trousers on the sofa.

It's not clear which one you are referring to. If it was the lady with the ill father, she posted a lot of details and was advised to have her thread deleted because of some of the conditions of the settlement.

Frizzcat · 09/01/2015 09:59

Who remembers the poster who started a thread about her dp/h drying his gentlemans vegetables with a hair dryer.

I really hope that wasn't a troll Smile
