Who's friend had a DP in america and she went over there to have her baby and the OP was worried her friends DP and his mum were planning on keeping the baby?

Posting in AIBU because it was in here for a while and a few might remember.

Yes I always wonder about the poster with the music teacher husband. She was putting up with such appalling behaviour and just could not see it.

There was a thread in chat,could be a few years back,where the poster was dogsitting her friends dog when the dogs previous owners turned up demanding access to the dog or somesuch. Never found out what happened there.

Bettie I remember that one. The bil wouldn't be emergency contact and therefore the OP picked an ill niece up from school and was so horrified by what she found at her sisters home that she ended up keeping the nieces Sad Hope that one had a happy ending.

Costa and Olbas - I think they might have been two separate posters. I THINK the poster Costa was talking about was not the one whose x committed suicide although there were similarities. Sadly I think the poster Costa is talking about died. She self harmed quite a bit and attempted suicide a couple of times. Her sister contacted someone on here and asked for threads to be deleted I think. There were some updates and she seemed to be ok. Then the poster who had been contacted PMed me to let me know the poster had apparently died. I could be wrong about it all though and have gotten mixed up.

I was just going to post about that - every so often, when visiting someone with a garage normally, I wonder about that situation and worry about the OP. Would love to hear that he was secretly restoring a car/learning to play her favourite song/doing something nice in there rather than the more disturbing guesses that were suggested.

I'd like to know what happened to the poster who kept her child at home because of d&v 48 hour rule, but then the school said it was unauthorised absence because they suspected her of taking the daughter on a minibreak. Thye were demanding drs notes and all sorts to prove innocence.

Thread earlier this year....

Poster couldn't find the clear plastic lid from a clip top box one of her DCs used for toys or craft stuff. She'd checked under the sofa etc and needed suggestions as to where else to look.

We have several of those boxes and every time I use one I wonder if her lid turned up.

I don't know why that one, of all the stories one reads on MN, - why that one particularly sticks in my head but I do think of it from time to time. Given the fantastical tales told by those of a hairy handed persuasion I also wonder if it was one of those. Fair play if it was - it certainly gripped the imagination!

The one that haunts me was a while ago now on the relationships board. The wife had woken up one morning to find a letter on the door mat and her "DH" had left her without even a hint of anything being wrong. Sad They'd been married years and had grown up children with one still living at home I think. The husband had said he'd left the country although I think it turned out he hadn't. I seem to remember that he'd been having an affair with someone from overseas on a dating web site.
I do hope she's ok now.

There should be a rule that people have to come back to end their stories. I don't care if they're made up or true: I don't have the wit or imagination to finish the stories myself. I want to know what happened next?

One that sticks in my head, even though it's kind of trivial compared to some of these is a wedding one, where the SIL or someone was going to allow the nephew to have his hair dyed green for the wedding. I always wondered if the hair ws indeed green at the wedding.

Think this one was a couple of years ago now.

Like toffeecaramel I too wonder about that little girl and the Elsa Snow Globe. That tale really haunted me, her parents were hard-core some-religion-or-another and believed in 'spare the rod and spoil the child'? Never heard of the basic psychology of the new baby bringing a present for the older sib, obviously. Bastards.
