At a soft play, 90% sure there's aan taking photos of random children. Seem him sat on his phone with camera on. Told the managers don't seem to be doing much .
Not sure if he got a shot of my dd who ran infront of him. He's acting very shifty.
What do I do?
He's here with his son...

I said. If a woman was displaying the same behaviour with their phone at a soft play, with it constantly on camera with none of her children with her I would find it just as odd

He's been there for at least an hour and his son has approached him once! And when he did the man put his phone down.
He's not taking photos of his son.
I don't care if my child's fully dressed and is flashing her knickers I still wouldn't want a random person with photos of her that he or SHE had taken of her on her own on purpose for whatever reason

Since you have to pay an entry fee it isn't technically a public place Sunna. The management are responsible and if they have rules like other places often do about photography then this guy should stop taking pictures when asked.

Op I think you should trust your instincts. If it is really making you uncomfortable can you approach the management again? Or perhaps one of the other mum's that you have noticed raising concerns. Then approach this man and ask him to stop taking photos or to please leave.

Arf at NHS

Yes, it is one thing that makes me feel sorry for men.

And like mentioned, what do you think he is doing? What EXACTLY are you worried about? Kidnapping or that he will be using the images?

People like me?
I've never ever thought someone has been doing this before in my life.
Because I was stood behind him when my dd ran past and noticed and when the management went over (walled behind him) 5 mins later he still was.
I could hear his phone clicking away (taking photos) his son was nowhere to be seen at the time.

I agree it seems odd - in that why would you want photos of others children.

I believe if your thinking he is and so are others it must be pretty obvious that's what he's doing.

I don't think it is anything sinister though - he's being too public for that IMO. You have the choice to leave OP and think you should if yiur uncomfortable.

It's clear the man is acting inappropriately. He knows this hence hiding the phone. Perhaps he's on facetime or something.
Why should OP have to leave the play area?
If the management don't speak to him perhaps you could ask if the company/venue has a no photographs policy, I'm sure some do.

how do you know he doesn't have more than one child there and is taking photos of all of them? Just because you've seen one child approach doesn't mean there aren't others.

Why would a paedophile need to take pics in a soft play place if he has a son and millions of other ways to access children (sorry to be blunt)? It makes no sense whatsoever. Just calm down and go about your business.

Some people on here are just pure nasty. What's worse is people who would think someone is taking photos of your child and others and say nothing!
If it's innocent why everytime an adult walks past does he move his phone down to face the floor?
He's acting odd.
He is odd.
But hey, I'm just sexist.
I haven't called the police for that exact reason I have no evidence but I have mothers instinct and it tells me this man is up to something he shouldn't. His body language, everything reaks of it.
If a woman was acting this way id be concerned.
For the last bloody time.
Thanks though, real help.

if you really believe this man to be doing something inappropriate why have you sat there for an hour? if I was really that creeped out by someone that I suspected them of being a paedophile then I would run as fast as I could in the opposite direction.

If you are so 'right' about this man then why be posting here instead of confronting him?

I know and have met LOADS of dads at okay areas, taking photos etc and suspended none of them. Just this man.
None of the others were acting how that man was

The public areas of soft play are not somewhere with a reasonable expectation of privacy and, unless the management bans all photography on the premises, it is OK to photograph inside just as in any place open to the public.

It seems the staff do not think that he is behaving inappropriately. I doubt calling the police would help, as the staff will tell them they were alerted but have seen nothing untoward. Having a camera in a place open to the public where photography is permitted is not a police matter. Neither is taking a boy to an age-appropriate venue.

If you think all photography should be banned, then you'll need to approach the management, not just the staff on duty. Your chances of persuading them successfully will be higher if you can show a good level of support for the proposal. Can you get the details of the others who have complained, and perhaps together canvass local opinion and present some proposals?
