I have spent the best part of two hours attempting to decorate ds a third birthday cake. He requested a sweetie train cake which I have tried my best to do.
Now I will confess it does look a bit like a boat and not exactly professional but a lot of love went in to it.
DH laughed at it and said it was shit and ds will probably say its rubbish.
Now I'm right pissed off with him. He thinks I'm being over sensitive. Aibu or is he?

The cake looks great. I have always made the dcs cakes. I am crap at decorating and this year I offered to buy the cakes for them - they were mortified, ds12 told me he loves the fact that I make his cakes and I take the time to do it.

You should be very proud of the cake I love it.

The engine bit, on its own I could see could be mistaken for a boat, but with all the carriages? what kind of boat has carriages like that?? Duh!!

The engine does look a tiny bit more like a boat than a train but you know what? The cake is gorgeous and fab, and your ds will love it! (Agree that you can call it a boat train - and next year, if ds wants a boat cake, you can do one already! :))
