Just seen the recent pictures and his knees are bare again! OK the socks are pulled up, but I just can't help but think he must be a bit chilly round the legs, poor lamb. I also think they dress him oddly too, I'm all for traditionally non character clothing, but he looks so starchy and uncomfy. If I were them I'd put him in things like these:

Cotton T-shirt Comfy trousers plimsolls

One thing I did like about the pictures was his closed mouth smile. Seemed to say, 'Yep I'm a cutie.'

The clothes linked too are awful imo, bar the shoes.
This.
Just the bright yellow trousers with the red shoes would make him look like a clown.

They chose neutral colours that allow (most) people to concentrate on the baby rather than his clothes.
I love his expressions, he looks so natural and relaxed.

My son has that outfit Lweji Blush

Sorry, but I wouldn't put the bright reds with the bright yellows.

And most certainly not in an official photo.

AlleyCat11 · 14/12/2014 20:00

OMG! I love Prince George! That's all I have to say on the matter Smile

Fallingovercliffs · 14/12/2014 20:00

I think he always looks gorgeous. And I'm sure he just posed in those clothes for about half an hour and was then changed back into something more practical. He certainly didn't look like he was shivering, just very happy. I suspect Kate and William were waving and smiling at him from behind the camera.

BigBoobiedBertha · 14/12/2014 20:07

When I had a photo done of DS1 professionally the photograper told me to dress him in dark colours because he would stand out against the backdrop and the clothes wouldn't drown him out either. I am sure his clothes were thought through and not just stuff you would like to see on a baby.

Lambzig · 14/12/2014 20:11

I am not usually a fan of the Royals , but he is a gorgeous baby and I think he looks very sweet. DS has that jumper. I am a fan of quite old fashioned dressing for the DC. Obvs I can't let him wear it again - muses should I flog it on ebay?

Artandco · 14/12/2014 20:11

I have seen him out playing in the parks. He wears rain suits because erm it's generally wet and muddy half the year. You wouldn't dress your child in rain suit and welling tons for a formal photo though would you?

My sons were dressed in raincoats and snow boots this morning to play in Hyde park. By 2pm they were changed for family meal out. They wore woolen shorts, tights, navy leather boots, a shirt, woolen jumper, and smart coat. Different occasions call for different clothing

potbellyroast · 14/12/2014 20:17

Think he looks lovely.

Marmiteandjamislush · 14/12/2014 20:17

I would Lambzig you could probably buy him a few new things with what you could make Smile

Oh dear OP. You've committed the MN crime of saying something vaguely critical / non-adulatory about the Royal Family.

Stick to commenting on the children of other celebrities/politicians/random strangers. They are fair game.

Marmiteandjamislush · 14/12/2014 20:21

Will do Tond Smile

kwerty

You don't need to knit it its a bog standard kath kidston one

www.cathkidston.com/cath-kidston/guards-tank-top-1009146

It's out of stock at the mo but apparently they are getting more (they do have a police car one that's nice and was in stock a few days ago)

kwerty · 14/12/2014 20:28

Thanks Needs !

Fallingovercliffs · 14/12/2014 20:29

Well I'm Irish Tond so have no allegiance to the Royal family. Some of us are commenting objectively on here you know and your rather general dismissal is a rather cheap attempt at winning an argument without actually having to say anything salient.

Lifesalemon · 14/12/2014 20:52

Artandco You like Prince George's clothes but hated OP choice of yellow trousers. I quite liked the yellow trousers, I don't think there's anything wrong with the style of PG's clothes although I do agree he looks cold but i had to read your post twice. Your boys wear tights? I must be behind the times because where I'm from if boys wore tights they would be a laughing stock. Just proves how tastes vary.

Dapplegrey · 14/12/2014 20:53

"My son has that outfit Lweji"
Op, you criticised the clothes that Prince George was wearing so it's fair enough for other posters to comment on the clothes that you like.
I think Prince George is so sweet.

JT05 · 14/12/2014 20:57

I'm no royalist, but he looks a real cutie. But I do agree the clothes are old fashioned. However, its his parent decision, he'll probably cringe like all offspring do at childhood photos.

Marmiteandjamislush · 14/12/2014 20:59

Not offended Dapple Just Blush that I might have sent him out looking like a clown! Smile

OP posts:
Artandco · 14/12/2014 21:00

Life - first people say ' what just shorts in winter'. Then you say ' boys in tights'!. People can't win. Yes they wear tights under winter shorts. With boots. They look fine IMO. At a recent non uniform day at school there were a few boys in tights/ shorts combo. They are 3 and 4, so hardly teenagers

Bowchickawowow · 14/12/2014 21:04

I don't think bright red and yellow would work for an official photo. The picture doesn't reflect his day to day life any more than the pictures on my wall showing two well behaved little boys in shirts and ties, smiling nicely and hugging each other...and Prince George probably didn't give a harassed Portrait Place photographer a minor breakdown either.

Bowchickawowow · 14/12/2014 21:05

DS2 used to wear pull on leggings when he was up to age 3. They had stripy legs and pictures on the bottom. Very cute!

NO he doesn't look cold. It was not cold in the south in November, it was very mild, non-coat weather.
