Just seen the recent pictures and his knees are bare again! OK the socks are pulled up, but I just can't help but think he must be a bit chilly round the legs, poor lamb. I also think they dress him oddly too, I'm all for traditionally non character clothing, but he looks so starchy and uncomfy. If I were them I'd put him in things like these:

Cotton T-shirt Comfy trousers plimsolls

Yeah, call social services or take a quiet life pill.

He is a complete and utter cutie but I'm personally not a fan of the "outfits".

I know they can hardly dress him in trackies and jumpers from Next but his clothes are just so far removed from what I actually see little boys wearing in RL

Also they are not anything I'd ever dress my DS in. It's all a bit too twee and restrictive for my tastes.

As for being cold I'd not given it much thought? I do recall it being pointed out when they were in NZ though that Mum and Dad were in long sleeves and baby in short trousers and short sleeve top.

Didn't notice any problems with his clothes or temperature. Just a gorgeous little boy.

He looks fine

Those yellow shorts someone linked too are darn awful though!

I dress my boys vaguely similar tbh. Soft dungerees/ leather shoes/ shorts and tights/ woolen coats etc

I love his clothes, I would like the tank top for my DS. I did wonder if he was a bit cold though!

Very nice photos and he does look really cute in the traditional style clothes. I doubt that's what he wears on a daily basis though, just for photo shoots and public appearances etc, just as anyone would dress their children up for parties, photos and the like.

I didn't think he looked cold and whilst they wouldn't be my choice, i don't see that his clothes looked restrictive or uncomfortable. A soft cotton long sleeved polo shirt, woolly tank top and shorts with long socks and I'm sure very well fitted shoes. He was a very early walker I think so couldn't have been too restricted.

Is this a thread someone has started with links to items she thinks another person's baby should be dressed in? Confused

When I first glanced at the photos on the tele(without my glasses) I thought it was Humpty Dumpty sat on his wall!

Anyway I don't think he looks cold, he looks smiley and happy. And maybe these clothes are his Sunday best. I'm sure he doesn't wear clothes like this ALL the time.

Gorgeous child! I love the clothes; don't think he looks in any way cold or uncomfortable. A bodysuit, Cath Kidston tank top and some comfy velvet shorts. No problem. And a pair of good old start-rites. Now, who knows where I can get a pattern to knit that tank top?

No, they are just what I would have chosen for my own DCs just to illustrate my point that he doesn't need to be in character clothing or jeans to look modern and comfy in my opinion. Good grief, people seem overly sensitive on here tonight. I never once criticized his parents or said he looked unhappy. I just commented on what I saw and thought he looked chilly. Are we not allowed just canvass totally banal opinions on subjects here now, without bitiching at each other or starting a riot?!!

Realistically, do people really think someone in the public eye as much as the
Cambridges would neglect their child by letting them get cold?

Johnogroats · 14/12/2014 18:37

I think he looks looks very cute and not cold! I wouldn't have chosen that outfit, but given a choice of that and those yellow boden trousers OP, I think I'd go for Kate's choice!

YABU. I think he'd let them know if he was cold! How ridiculous.
Plus, I absolutely love the way he's dressed. His little dungarees he wears are absolutely adorable, and I used to put my two in stuff like that all the time( not that many years ago either.)
Much prefer the traditional look than the 'trendy' one!

Prince George is gorgeous. He is happy, well fed, well loved and well dressed. For his released photos he can't look like he is going to the park in trackies and wellies like every other kid, because he isn't every other kid.

When he is not being photographed he will be in trackies and wellies, like every other toddler scrambling up a climbing frame. The reason the clothes are Kath Kidston and Start Rite ( ie high street rather than designer) is because he can't be seen in bespoke clothing or sweatshop clothing when the country is in economic austerity measures and people are relying on food banks.

Would you release a photo of your mud splattered, filthy dirty child, designer clothes or not, with stick in hand, if he was a future king or would you fear being accused of being a neglectful parent? I wouldn't.

It was flipping warm in mid November in London, 17 degrees, car roofs down, eating outside, with people in shorts and t shirts on the street.

He's fine.

No he doesn't look cold and I bet those pictures were taken in less than 5 minutes. Who knows when they were taken either - could have been a month or two ago.

Also you don't know where he is. He could be on a sheltered patio of a walled garden to keep the wind out.

He's a cutie and I am sure he is well cared for and loved and with as normal a childhood as is possible given his parents.

Where in my OP did I say he is neglected ect. I didn't. I don't think it's fair to attribute remarks to me that I never wrote, said, guys. Disagree with my thoughts, but don't link really malicious statements to me please.

Yabu bit pathetic to start a thread about a baby discussing his looks. Why don't you put a picture of your child here and let everyone decide how he/she looks? Hmm

My 5 year old was in the sea in his pants on the last day of November. It was warm still. Toddlers have a habit of making their needs and wants known!

I do get what you mean OP about some people looking cold, often regardless of the weather or what they are wearing. A neighbours child has that look, even on a hot summers day she still has that cold look and I am sure she isn't.

I just don't happen to feel that PG has that look to me :0
