Just seen the recent pictures and his knees are bare again! OK the socks are pulled up, but I just can't help but think he must be a bit chilly round the legs, poor lamb. I also think they dress him oddly too, I'm all for traditionally non character clothing, but he looks so starchy and uncomfy. If I were them I'd put him in things like these:

Cotton T-shirt Comfy trousers plimsolls

God help them if they have a girl next - the criticism here will be rife.

I have a girl. If she was having photos taken for any reason, I'd put her in a pretty dress and cardigan or something. But for everyday, it's leggings or cords and a plain or stripey tee. I bet young George probably tears around the palace in Next joggers and whatever top comes off the ironing pile. They are human beings you know.
And babies are a great leveller. All babies have poo explosions, dribbly bibs, raw cheeks from teething, and grazed knees at some point, future King or not.

SaucyJack · 14/12/2014 18:53

My grandad had a pair of trousers like that when he worked on the railway lines.....

I think he looks cute. He might not be dressed like any old kid you see at a Wacky Warehouse, but then he isn't any old kid.

BigBoobiedBertha · 14/12/2014 18:53

You called him a 'poor lamb' and said he looked chilly. By implication you are suggesting that somebody has let him get cold for the sake of a photograph and are not taking care of him.

I don't like going out without a coat this time of year. My DS2 is quite happy to walk around in his shirt sleeves. He isn't cold, it is his choice. Is he a 'poor lamb' too even though it is his choice, just because you and I don't like having our arms and legs uncovered?

SaucyJack · 14/12/2014 18:53

*those yellow ones

Marmiteandjamislush · 14/12/2014 18:55

Lady Where did I discuss his looks??! I just said he looks cold! How rude of you to call anyone pathetic, you spiteful baggage.

What does poor lamb, mean to others, we use it like 'little one' ect. in our family. DH is German and uses Mein almnes kind, which means poor child literally, but he means little, unsophisticated one.

Privilege will keep him quite warm.

OhPuddleducks · 14/12/2014 19:02

I love it - I am partial to popping DS in a sweater vest though, so I'm probably biased. he also has two bow ties

Hulababy · 14/12/2014 19:06

He doesn't look cold in the slightest to me - but then I have a dd who has always been a hot baby ho hated being too trussed up.

He looked very relaxed and happy in the photos :) He would have only be sat there for a few minutes at a time anyway so hardly time to get cold.

Hassled · 14/12/2014 19:07

:o 2of3.

I think he looks adorable. There's enough flesh on those chubby knees to insulate.

Hulababy · 14/12/2014 19:11

"What does poor lamb mean?"

A little child/toddler/baby who you feel sorry for.

But no, I don't agree. I don't think he is hard done by and sat there cld and unhappy - he looks smiley and relaxed.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 14/12/2014 19:12

Where in my OP did I say he is neglected ect.

You said he looked chilly. Letting your child get cold just to flaunt them in public is somewhat neglectful.

Hulababy · 14/12/2014 19:12

And I actually prefer what George is wearing in the photo shoot compared to the Boden clothes linked too.

Marmiteandjamislush · 14/12/2014 19:13

Oh, I didn't mean poor lamb then. Sorry for any confusion.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 14/12/2014 19:13

And yes, "poor lamb" implies he needs sympathy because something is wrong.

Sorry but I think it's a big jump to neglect from there, doesn't Hmm

Namechangeyetagaintohide · 14/12/2014 19:14

I love they way they dress him.

Marmiteandjamislush · 14/12/2014 19:15

What expression should I have used then?

I would rather see Prince George in jogging bottoms and a t shirt!

HamishBamish · 14/12/2014 19:21

I think he looks adorable and what he's wearing strikes a good balance between being appropriate an not completely over the top. I'm sure he's not cold.

WooWooOwl · 14/12/2014 19:21

YABU.

He looks lovely and quite comfortable.

VenusRising · 14/12/2014 19:24

Marmite, you've said you're new here, and it's coming across... Erm.... maybe Just chill out, no need to take everyone's comments to heart, or to have to 'deal' with everyones' 'malicious' assertions!!!!

Relax OK? It's just the Internet.Grin

Fwiw I dressed my dcs like BigG as I like that homespun rationbook look.

And I don't think his botty would get cold- remember, he's still in nappies. Love the michevious grin.
(I bet Pippa will launch her own children's clothes line soon.)
