Tinsel or baubles first?

This question has nearly ended my marriage today. Personally I think it's completely obvious. So AIBU to say OF COURSE you put the tinsel on first. Otherwise it obscures the baubles. Silly man.

Kids chuck everything on, then go to bed.

I strip the tree and place lights, tinsel, baubles in that order.

Same every year.

"well mumsnet can come round and decorate the fucking tree then"

I love it, if I did come round and decorate then it would definitely be lights, tinsel, baubles - no question about it, otherwise you're fighting the baubles to get the tinsel on the tree.

londonrach lametta was the very height of 70s Christmas chic so not new at all!

YellowTulips · 08/12/2014 22:07

Tinsel is just not naice....but Angels hair and lametta is the work of the devil and kills vacuum cleaners.

Lights, baubles (large then small), crackers, then ribbon bows and finally the star on top.

Wonders why ive been hiding re lack of xmas decoration knowledge. My parents only did the plastic tree and tinsel.

Cockadoodle, we were clearly ahead of our time, as we had lametta when I was a kid and I'm 70.
