Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

So much hatred, turn that energy into something positive and fucking switch the ad off and move on. They do no harm to you do they? Do they shit on your dinner plate? Short circuit your wiring? Put bleach in your darks wash? No? So pls for the love of god move on.

notascientist · 12/11/2014 20:52

In what way can a 12-year-old boy be any more "amazing looking" than your average boy of that age? What exactly does "amazing looking" even mean?

Romeo is very good looking and does have a very refined look - which modelling agencies love! A lot of British boys fo that age, on the whole (although not all) are a bit chunky in face and build and more of the Wayne Rooney mold/persuasion.

No offence to Wayne Rooney but you wouldn't really want him in yer Burberry ad would you?Grin

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 20:52

Perhaps Romeo will live up to his name and break hearts left right and centre with his amazing looks. Confused

notascientist · 12/11/2014 20:53

of that age

ssd · 12/11/2014 20:53

it would take 45k to make either ds wear a coat Grin

KimHollywood · 12/11/2014 20:54

I don't think she looks skeletal at all.

Overweight is the norm in the UK.

Hmm but if the thread is about KP or KK feel free to rip them to shreds.

No hatred just apathetic ambivalence. She sells posh dresses the maj of women can't afford or fit into, she's hardly working towards world peace so simply not seeing the need for such celeb worship.

notascientist · 12/11/2014 20:56

it would take 45k to make either ds wear a coat grin

No matter how much dancing they do - those macs still say Dot Cotton to me! Grin

SuburbanRhonda · 12/11/2014 20:56

British boys are chunky in the face and build.

Where do you live, notascientist? The Shire?

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 20:57

Peter wouldn't let the kids model. He loves them too much.

notascientist · 12/11/2014 20:57

she's hardly working towards world peace

She's just come from Africa - and done a lot of work with Aids victims.
What have you done?

LePetitMarseillais · 12/11/2014 21:02

If I had nannies, millions, very flexible working hours and an entourage to cover my back I'd fly to Africa first class to do my bit.

As it is I do what I can afford.Obviously that doesn't have the gloss factor and is on a far tinier scale but hey ho everything in proportion.

ssd · 12/11/2014 21:02

my ds's arent chunky in the face, thanks very much

SuburbanRhonda · 12/11/2014 21:02

I thought she was a goodwill ambassador, notascientist, so not sure how much work she's actually doing with AIDS victims themselves.

It's more of a diplomatic role, though there was a good photo-op of her in an AIDS hospital in South Africa a few weeks ago, a bit like Diana.

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 21:04

Perhaps she could undertake a teacher training course LePetit, given the home support.

LePetitMarseillais · 12/11/2014 21:04

Hmmm the health workers out there actually working with Ebola victims now they are worthy of adulation.

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 21:06

Mine is SSD or I'd have him in a mac sharpish, cancel the college fund endowment policy and buy myself a VB dress.

ShesAnEasyWuffer · 12/11/2014 21:09

I love the advert and the music. I found it mesmerising. Romeo is a gorgeous boy

ssd · 12/11/2014 21:12

now me, yes am very chunky in the face and everywhere else

I'd need to buy about four of vicky's dressed to cover me Grin

maybe not the look she's after though

carovioletfizz · 12/11/2014 21:22

Another one here who finds it obscene. I am not jealous and accept they have earned their fortune. But I'm afraid that in a country where 90,000 children are homeless, rely on food banks and live in utter misery and poverty, there are many inequalities I find stomach turning.

A twelve year old child, who already lives a life of luxury, being paid the equivalent of a year's salary to have his picture taken is amongst those things.

He may be 'worth' that amount to Burberry. He may be 'amazing looking'. The fact remains that against the backdrop of the realities of 2014 Britain, where life is a daily struggle to put food on the table, to pay this money to a child (or an adult actually) just to pose for a few photos, is obscene.

Sallystyle · 12/11/2014 21:28

He's a lovely looking boy, but like someone else said, I see lots of lovely looking boys when I take my kids to school.

I don't get how he is amazing looking, I don't think his looks are any more striking than half the kids out there. I just see a normal average looking boy.

I couldn't care less how much he earned.

Caff2 · 12/11/2014 21:41

My DS1 has been scouted three times by modelling agencies, twice in London and once in Birmingham. He is not a model. He is a fourteen year old boy, and neither he nor I wanted him to model. He was not being offered 45k upfront mind - If he was I might have pushed him! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 21:42

Is he amazing looking Caff? Grin

ssd · 12/11/2014 21:45
Grin
DeadCert · 12/11/2014 21:55

Maybe is donating the 45k?
