Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 18:25

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

Maybe is donating the 45k?

Perhaps he is. That would be another brilliant publicity opportunity, wouldn't it?

slithytove · 12/11/2014 22:39

My son looks like he will break hearts one day. According to his granny anyway.

I think it's a pretty standard thing to say about cute boys.

I fwiw like what I see of the Beckhams, they seem a lovely family, and when I see the z list sleb culture in this country, I really can't get worked up about the Beckhams.

I think all their kids are very good looking. As are many others. mine included

Thewrongmans · 12/11/2014 22:41

Aww he's a cutie. Maybe he cold use some of that money for some orthodontic treatment.

MrsBigginsPieShop · 12/11/2014 23:06

If he was modelling George, I might be shocked at the fee. But it's Burberry; the salaries are commensurate with the potential return

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 23:15

Would I turn down £45 grand if it was for my child? If I was the parent of Romeo Beckham, yes I would. There are many super rich celebs out there who certainly wouldn't allow it either. Most like to keep their kids out of the limelight. He's 12 years old for goodness sake. The Beckhams will do anything to stay in the limelight! even at the expense of their kids.
I've never been one to worship celebs unlike a lot on here. I wonder what that must say about me? Hmm oh that's it, I must be jealous.

Exactly. They can afford to preserve a childhood for their DC and resist such offers FAR better than most people can. I'd guess VB sought it out. Narcissim.

BIWI · 12/11/2014 23:50

I'd just like to point out that Victoria Beckham has just been voted by Management Today as Entrepreneur of the Year See here

Not exactly a magazine given to celeb worship.

Let's enjoy and promote another woman's success, shall we?

ArsenicSoup · 12/11/2014 23:54

Go ahead and start a thread BIWI if you fancy discussing that, different, more positive, subject.

Catsarebastards · 12/11/2014 23:56

What a stupid OP

BIWI · 12/11/2014 23:56

Why should I start another thread? Confused

Am I not allowed to post this here, on a thread where others have been slagging VB off?

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 23:57

Biwi you can, I won't. She's got where she has be because of who her husband is, nothing else. If she hadn't married him she would have faded back into obscurity after the Spice girls. Or is success only to be measured by how many millions you have in your bank.

OP posts:
BIWI · 12/11/2014 23:58

No, you're wrong, Polly. When they got together she had already earned more money than he had. She certainly hasn't achieved whatever success she has on the back of her husband. She was independently wealthy.

BIWI

Why would we all 'enjoy and promote another woman's success' in being given an award for Entrepreneurialism on a thread about high-fee child modelling by 12 year olds? Confused

Or is the pushy stage mother routine the entrepreneurialism that she won the award for? Confused Confused

Why twee irrelevancies about the woman? Just to be 'nice'?

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 00:05

She has achieved her success through her husband. She got lucky with the Spice girls and made a lot of money, but after it was over she wouldn't have been heard of again if not for him. Even the most ardent VB admirers will admit that.

Please can we shelve last year's catchphrases. Cant you just tell me to fuck off normally?

And no, i wont. Why should I? It's a stupid OP. They have always been in the business of making large amounts of money, it's what they do and they do it well. This is no different. It's hardly as if the money would have gone to a local foodbank had the Beckhams turned it down. Might as well be in their pockets as some other pretty faced child's.

cerealqueen · 13/11/2014 00:09

He'll never have a normal life, so frankly I can't envy them at all.

ArsenicSoup · 13/11/2014 00:12

No, but the DC could have considerably more anonymity and protection cereal

Mate of mine met him (& his Dad). Better behaved and more polite kid you couldn't wish to see was his view. You go for it kid, if they're prepared to pay silly money - you take it.

Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 00:17

Stupid, ignorant and unbelieveable? How is that then?

cerealqueen · 13/11/2014 00:21

arsenic With parents who court celebrity, he'll never have a normal life. Some whose lives are in the limelight might manage it, they never will. They are the parents. They say what goes.

Tobyjugg · 13/11/2014 00:21

I'm with catsarebastards

ArsenicSoup · 13/11/2014 00:22

True cereal. Depressing.

Equally depressing how many people seem to think modelling at 12 years old is a great idea Hmm

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 00:25

Well you tell me why I should be called stupid first.
