Making a torte tonight, just seen what dh bought last night. I asked him for eggs and high quality dark chocolate. He managed the eggs OK but came back with g nb 70%.

I know its not awful, but it really isn't high quality stuff. Not even fairtrade and made by the same people that brought you cheese in a can.

Koala - I don't know about where you are but our local Coles has had G&B chocolate on for half price this week - $1.99 instead of the usual $3.99! I admit I might have done a bit of a bulk-buy...

Lindt chocolate is not made in the uk. Made is Switzerland, France and Italy I believe.

And montezumas chocolate is absolutely horrible. So waxy and no flavour. It says a lot that I'd prefer no chocolate to montezumas.

It is a wind up. Op's local waitrose is indeed under a bridge & the op has been banned after starting threads far more inflammatory than this one.

Massively differing opinons here. I love Hotel Chocolat truffles etc, and there's people on here saying they're crap. One thing I do know is that I've never liked Cadbury's either before or after any buy out.

I'm going to do a taste test and decide for myself. I've never had Montezuma's before and if it's on offer in Waitrose, that's the perfect time to go and get some. I'll get some G&B too. There is an Aldi opposite, so I'll get some of their's at the same time. Weekend posh chocolate fest anyone?
