I know there is pedants corner but I was wondering if there was anywhere where like minded people who want to complain about words like amazeballs, and other grumpy things can go and be grumpy without being told to get a life?

Someone at work asked me to 'zhoozh it up' the other day.
I told him, I'd do it but only if he could spell it.
It was either that or call him a twat.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 10/11/2014 18:35

MANY thanks to HicDraconis for pointing this thread out to us, truth be told it sounds like the very dab (apart from the extra facility of the fuck off button, obvs. If you lot get one, we'll all want one, and then where will we be? Armablimmingeddon, that's where.)
Let us discuss it in the office, in between arguments about WHERE ON EARTH NOVEMBER HAS GONE in the great rush to the 25th Dec, and get back to you, mmmkay?

ginslinger · 10/11/2014 18:36

annie being an optimist, i'm taking being on your shit list as a claim to fame!

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 10/11/2014 18:38

And so you should, gin. I have been here for 7 years and, judging by what gets bandied about in AIBU, that makes me royalty, ya know!

VenusRising · 10/11/2014 18:41

I think the emoticon should wear a Carmen Miranda hat, and professorial glasses, or how about an ear trumpet?

Or just a Maggie stylee Handbag?

Or a pile of buns?

Hot, cross buns?

.

Pipbin · 10/11/2014 18:45

Off I go to make dinner and MNHQ come to us with a very mummy level 'we'll see'.
In my mind that's a win.

DeliciousDevil · 10/11/2014 18:49

But Annie, it's a tea mug not a coffee mug. Definitely.

JadziaSnax · 10/11/2014 18:49

Sounds fantastic. Could call it Ranty Corner. It would save DH from my 'this advert is shit and here's why' rants.

Poopooplop · 10/11/2014 19:06

YetanotherHelen I'm impressed you even bothered to answer... If I was a MNHQer I'd be thinking "shut it." but maybe that's why I'm a misery.

LemonChicken · 10/11/2014 19:21

Pipbin, what do you have in mind? Would it be like an up-cycled AIBU? Or would it be more of a re-purposing of the current AIBU? Will you be reaching out to people to source some new ideas? Can we do a few brainstorming sessions? I am totes amazeballs at thinking outside of the box. And I am really good at getting the back up of twat-speak-peeps.

LemonChicken · 10/11/2014 19:26

Brenda Woolies WAS Christmas wasn't it, I used to buy bath salts there and put them in jam jars as gifts as a child.

that's up-cycling, or if you prefer: re-purposing

well so I am told.

personally I just think it's putting bath salts in a jam jar and calling it a Christmas present. Grin

woolies.... sigh. I used to enjoy a good forage in Woolies, and managed to source many's a Christmas supply there (and put them in jam jars, of course).

Poopooplop · 10/11/2014 19:31

Lemon! You're killing me!

Sunna · 10/11/2014 19:45

I'm starting a list.

Boomtownsurprise · 10/11/2014 19:46

Op it's called aibu....

Poopooplop · 10/11/2014 19:59

No boom. It's really not. Rtft

Pipbin · 10/11/2014 20:08

No it's not, because in grump corner the OP will never be being U.
The posters responding to the OP will only post of they agree. If they believe that, for example, perfume adverts are wonderful then they shouldn't post on a thread entitled 'I wish all those smug fucking twats on those perfume adverts would do one.'

OP posts:
GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 10/11/2014 20:08

I WANT "And Another Thing..."

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 10/11/2014 20:09

Perfume ads!! Wish they would just say what they smelled like, and whether or not they smelled like curried bum. Save me some time, knowing that in advance.

Poopooplop · 10/11/2014 20:12

Because you'd go straight out and buy the curried bum one, Gilbert?

Pipbin · 10/11/2014 20:12

They are all such utter bollocks.

OP posts:
Poopooplop · 10/11/2014 20:16

Any whispering on TV makes my heart break.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 10/11/2014 20:17

Exactly!!

Pipbin · 10/11/2014 20:18

Is it me being old is is everyone mumbling into their beards on to and films these days?

OP posts:
Pipbin · 10/11/2014 20:19

On tv that should read, not on to.

OP posts:
Janethegirl · 10/11/2014 20:21

I'm in too as I'm most definitely grumpy most of the time
