No coincidence.

IHeartKingThistle · 06/10/2014 10:34

I agree. It's not like they don't have form for that sort of thing.

Missunreasonable · 06/10/2014 10:34

I can't open the link but if it was about clarkson and crew then I agree that it was not a coincidence. I wouldn't normally advocate violence but I can't help feel that they brought it on themselves in this case.

PedantMarina · 06/10/2014 10:35

Link fail! What did it say?

jacks365 · 06/10/2014 10:37

I'm positive that was the genuine plate for that car, it looked easily like it could be a genuine H reg car. did anyone notice that pig with wings go past

Igotafreegoattoo · 06/10/2014 10:40

Clarkson is an utter twat who appears to have never grown up. All 3 of them like giggly fucking schoolboys. Clearly it was on purpose and the whole "don't know what you're talkin' bout sir" nonsense just makes him look like even more of a cunt.

Annarose2014 · 06/10/2014 10:43

I don't know which of them I find more embarressing, Clarkson himself for being an Alf Garnett throwback, or the other two for giggling sycophantically at everything he says.

PrivateJourney · 06/10/2014 10:43

is this better?

petswinprizes · 06/10/2014 10:44

I think they crossed the line - everything up until now I have seen the funny side of, or have thought was an over-reaction. But not this one. According to the radio, the car had it's original plates, and was last sold in august of this year. I would like to hear from the previous owner as to where/how it was sold. Might go and look on the DM - for some nice unbiased reporting.

Thumbwitch · 06/10/2014 10:44

No, that link doesn't work either - is it to do with Clarkson getting kicked out of a South American country?

MissYamabuki · 06/10/2014 10:45

No coincidence. Their usual xenophobic, Boratesque antics but this time they have been called on it.

PrettyPictures92 · 06/10/2014 10:45

sorry%2C when I click on the link the page just comes up with that Sad

Chopstheduck · 06/10/2014 10:45

DH did a search of the registrations databases, and that plate simply doesnt exist as far as we could see. They are talking bollocks.

R4roger · 06/10/2014 10:46

i dont think it was a mistake
did it begin with H, or G, which is a pretty old car?

Territt16 · 06/10/2014 10:47

I don't really see the problem with the plates?

PrettyPictures92 · 06/10/2014 10:47

m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/5926026

Was it this by any chance?

meglet · 06/10/2014 10:47

Of course it wasn't.

I love TG (shouldn't really being a Guardian reading lentil weaver) but they've really dropped themselves in the shit this time.

R4roger · 06/10/2014 10:48

H982 FKL

CaptainAnkles · 06/10/2014 10:49

Not a chance.

Chopstheduck · 06/10/2014 10:49

H982 FKL

  1. That was not a 1969 porsche that he was driving.
gordyslovesheep · 06/10/2014 10:51

No it wasn't ... They are dickheads

PrivateJourney · 06/10/2014 10:53

1969? Are you sure. My first car was an F reg. Bought approx. a year old c. 1990.

I think the number plate was probably correct for the car, I don't think they're quite stupid enough to use a car with fake plates and if it was re-registered just for the show that would be easy to prove and might actually get him sacked this time. What I think probably happened is someone saw the car and thought "what a fab car to take to Argentina"

HighwayDragon · 06/10/2014 10:54

I'm sorry, I don't get it?

Thumbwitch · 06/10/2014 10:54

No, to be 1969 the H would have been at the end.

With it at the front, that makes it a 1990 car.

R4roger · 06/10/2014 10:55

H is 1991 i think
