Top Gear is the most crass crap telly ever. I wish the Argentinians had caught up with the entire lot of them and done us all a favour.

Panthingies · 06/10/2014 23:36

here's a bit from Stuart Lee on Top Gear...

QueenTilly · 06/10/2014 23:49

Of course it wasn't an accident. They either changed the plates, or they bought the the car for its plates.

I wouldn't believe they'd ended up in Argentina with a car plated FKL by accident. I will certainly not believe they were in one saying H982 FKL without arranging it that way. Hmm

They're the Top Gear lot.

AgaPanthers · 07/10/2014 01:56

They were the original plates, but of course it's likely they chose the car for its plates.

sparrowno1 · 07/10/2014 03:14

Can't stand Top Gear.
The entire thing is very obviously scripted - it's not the spontaneous banter it pretends to be.
The fact that it's so obviously scripted and people can't see that annoys me massively.

OwlCapone · 07/10/2014 07:37

These are the guys who went out with pro-homosexual slogans on their cars in the US Deep South.

Not seeing a problem with that one!

I do find all the possible scenarios for this Argentinian thing somewhat unlikely. The number plate is too "perfect" for a deliberate act of provocation yet seems to be totally genuine. It's on a Porsche which again seems unlikely but genuine. How did they find a perfect plate? Did they then tip someone off to start the attacks to ensure good TV and publicity?

sparrowno1 · 07/10/2014 08:06

They searched for a car with a license plate that would suit their xenophobic agenda.

bigjimsdiamondmine · 07/10/2014 08:43

No not a coincidence. And even though I wouldn't normally say this about violence, HA on him for getting his comeuppance, I hope it shocks some sense into him but I won't hold me breath. At least he got what he deserved for once. Pathetic, objectionable little man.

Biscoff · 07/10/2014 08:45

I was only making the point that they always seek to goad the local population not saying there was anything wrong with gay slogans. They supposedly had locals chasing them with shot guns. They are complete xenophobic arseholes.

AnyoneForTARDIS · 07/10/2014 18:47

although Im sure I read somewhere the American ambush in the 'hick' town was a setup for the programme?

the town was warned beforehand TG would be pulling a stunt and to co-operate for tv entertainment?

and the pursuers were actors or something?

still no excuse of course for the juvenile antics.

samsam123 · 07/10/2014 19:51

love TG they are just sore losers

AnyoneForTARDIS · 08/10/2014 18:51

Clarkson was scheduled to appear on loose women today.

he didn't appear!
don't know why, maybe they would have had to change title to NOOse women! Grin.

johhnny rotten on instaed Hmm

moaningminnie2 · 08/10/2014 19:01

Love TG and love Clarkson and the crew
Went to school with Hammond and he was a real petrol head then.I remember him being really tiny and having a massive adidas bag that was nearly as big as him!

well, apparently the producers are insisting its a sheer coincidence!

vienna1981 · 11/10/2014 20:56

In the days when Top Gear had grown-up presenters such as William Woollard and Quentin Wilson, it was a quality motoring magazine. Even JC wasn't half the posturing knob back then that he is now. Now the programme is a shadow of its former self. Childish, self-aggrandising nonsense with appropriate presentation. They really are a trio of twats for pulling this stunt. I haven't watched Top Gear for about fifteen years.

fizzymittens · 11/10/2014 21:08

How do you know so much about TG if you haven't watched it for fifteen years....Hmm

vienna1981 · 11/10/2014 21:55

When it's on the TV at work. Not my choice but I don't wear blinkers and ear defenders so I'm aware of what goes on. You don't need much exposure to see how far down the pan the programme has gone.

Chippednailvarnish · 11/10/2014 23:50

JC has given me a reason to like Piers Morgan...

vienna1981 · 12/10/2014 09:57

Apologies for my last post. I got a bit arsey in response to a reasonable question. I was just that way out last night. No excuse, of course.

we love TG because of the presenters, they are funny and make a great ensemble.

they themselves have said its barely ABout the cars any more.

we love it, I just cant stand the stuff they (espesh Clarkson) get away with.
