Mum changing shitty nappy in ladies

ProudAS · 20/09/2014 13:03

I just went to the loo in a restaurant to find a mum had just changed her DC. The used nappy was on the floor with poo visible. She did get rid of the nappy (in the sanitary bin) but not the smell.

The smell made me retch and feel sick. AIBU to think she should have used the baby changing room next door?

Was there a baby changing room?

YABU.

A public toilet is a perfectly appropriate place to change a dirty nappy.

And as others have pointed out, adults also poo in public toilets. You really can't expect them to smell nice all the time.

BumpAndGrind · 20/09/2014 13:20

I changed a shitty nappy on the passenger seat of the car while in a tool and machinery shop car park yesterday. All those tradesmen gave my nothing but sympathetic looks and a smile as the mountain of shitty wipes on the floor mounted up.

I think you are being a bit bitchy OP.

icanmakeyouicecream · 20/09/2014 13:23
  1. She probably tried but it was busy
  2. The sme of poo ... In a toilet Shock
  3. You're in there for 5 mins absolute max, I'm sure it won't damage you for life
  4. Have some empathy, I bet the mum didn't want to change the baby right there. Or I suppose she could have hold on and waited until the baby changing room had become available just for you.

Obviously you are being unreasonable and you know it you absolute basket case.

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/09/2014 13:24

So pooey nappy in ladies is not ok, but an adult woman having a poo in the toilet would be?

Riiiight.

Confused
DiaDuit · 20/09/2014 13:26
Confused

what an odd attitude OP.

Gileswithachainsaw · 20/09/2014 13:29

What was she supposed to do? Leave the poor baby in a shitty nappy incase some precious bint got offended about pop in a frickin toilet.

Rest assured if a baby change room.was in use or left in a state I've used toilets too.

Cannot see a problem. Tbh. As a op said at least it wasn't the table and chairs in the restaurant.

YoSkylar · 20/09/2014 13:30

YABU. There was a story on here recently bout someone actually changing baby's nappy on the table in the middle of a restaurant! Now that was unreasonable !

wantacatplease · 20/09/2014 13:32
Hmm
Aeroflotgirl · 20/09/2014 13:35

Anotheronesoon · 20/09/2014 13:52

Yubvu ridiculous
I feel for the poor mum who had to change her baby on a dirty toilet floor!

Aeroflotgirl · 20/09/2014 13:58

Ive had to do that Another, as there were no baby changing facilities in the restaurant, what was I supposed to do, leave ds in a poo nappy, or even shock horror change him on the restaurant floor.

Only1scoop · 20/09/2014 14:00

Yabu thought you were going to say you trod on it in which case fair enough but she binned it!!

catgirl1976 · 20/09/2014 14:02

What did the police say?

Whiskwarrior · 20/09/2014 14:04

I hope you called Social Services, OP.

I am apawlled and discusted Grin

CheesyBadger · 20/09/2014 14:07

Where is op? Maybe she has gone to have a poo..., hope it doesn't smell! You may be sick!

ProudAS · 20/09/2014 14:07

Yes I do poo in the ladies but I don't put it on show or stuff it in the sanitary bin. I flush it away.

I assume other ladies poo there but somehow it doesn't make me feel sick or retch like this did.

OP posts:
coppertop · 20/09/2014 14:10

Whatever is the world coming to?

Aeroflot - fair enough if there were no baby changing facilities but there was one right next to the ladies.

And as for the baby changing room possibly being in use (which it wasn't) should ladies use the gents when the ladies is in use?

I am not trying to be bitchy but am very sensitive to certain smells. It's not just a case of finding them unpleasant but they actually make me feel sick.

OP posts:
Whiskwarrior · 20/09/2014 14:16

But it's a public toilet, OP.

They quite often smell of shit, baby or otherwise. I don't like the smell either, but it's a toilet.

Maybe from now on you should time all your outings so that you never have to visit a public toilet.

And the very fact that YOU shit in them yourself makes you VU to comment on anyone else - flushed toilets still leave a stench.

PhaedraIsMyName · 20/09/2014 14:17

YABU but she should have bagged the nappy and taken it away.

It's many years since I had to change a nappy but I never left home without a supply of nappy bags. I used the commercial perfumed ones which did a great job of hiding any smells.
