No gloating.
No blaming.

Just appreciation for a huge turnout and a peaceful process.

area52 · 19/09/2014 07:29

Santana England et al protects us.... ha ha ha ha ha. surely you must be joking!

I am never going to trust mumsnet bbc or guardian again. patronising sneering establishment apologists the lot.

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:35

The pound has surged on the money market.

Good news economically too.

HeySoulSister · 19/09/2014 07:35

These 'powers' that Scotland are getting..... They aren't much are they? Just a little something to give to shut up the moaning it seems!

EarthWindFire · 19/09/2014 07:36

We don't know what they are yet!

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:37

Oh gosh the markets, WildThong? yes, you can follow them, all the way down to hell.

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:37

area

The case wasn't made for Yes. If you need to blame anyone, blame your own leaders.

Luckytwo · 19/09/2014 07:37

I can't wait to see what new powers there will be. Very exciting. I hope no one changed their vote on account of them.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 07:37

Jam tomorrow right enough.

TheBogQueen · 19/09/2014 07:38

The powers are a little pat on the head for a scotland. But that's what it wants.

wearenotinkansas · 19/09/2014 07:38

I've only just seen the result. I'm quietly relieved. But I think the Yes campaign should take away the fact that 45% of the population voted for independence. I truly hope, even as a no voter, that the focus, of politicians, the media, overseas investors, moves away from focusing on London and the South East and moves more to Scotland and the rest of the UK.

I suspect Cameron, Darling et al are also relieved. But I don't think they can or should ignore that an awful lot of people of Scotland wanted to leave the union

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:38

Oh sorry ignore that last post, I keep getting muddled and posting my cross things on the peaceful thread, this one, when I didn't mean to. I have been venting elsewhere and got mixed up.

Sorry Flowers

(though I do believe what I said! Smile )

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:38

rooty cheers for that. Nothing is pissing on my parade today, absolutely nothing.

TheBogQueen · 19/09/2014 07:39

Jam for some

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 07:39

That's what we're reduced to, a nation dictated to money markets and big business.

Lots of swayers would have been swayed by the more powers promises. Duped.

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:40

No problem

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 07:40

Jam for some? What do you mean?

HeySoulSister · 19/09/2014 07:41

Hinting at powers over tax. Lol, can't see it being much! And of course, then Enhlsnd/Wales/NI will want the same, so in the interest of fairness, we will all end up with the same!

What a waste of money and resources to end up back at square one!

TheBogQueen · 19/09/2014 07:42

That things will be good fir some people but not others

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:42

lovely. It's not the No voters that were duped. Look closer to home. You feel devastated and I get that. As I said to you on the other thread, blame your own leaders for not doing what they promised you. Your case wasn't made.
The extra promises made not a whit of difference to me, I've been committed no since the beginning.

EarthWindFire · 19/09/2014 07:43

People weren't duped. People had a vote and made their own minds up.

Luckytwo · 19/09/2014 07:44

Yes I think so, soulsister .....they have to remember that a general election is coming up and the rUK will need placating now .

TheBogQueen · 19/09/2014 07:45

We will
Have another conservative government.

OOAOML · 19/09/2014 07:46

I would like if today we could all take a deep breath and think about the amazing process we have been through. At almost 10pm last night, a voter (no indication of his preference) came up to the Yes and No people at the polling station and thanked us all for the campaigns and the debate. I spoke to a lot of Yes campaigners yesterday, we were all friendly, most of us shook hands and some of us hugged. We voted differently, and we wanted a range of different things, but we all took part - I am very tired and therefore a bit weepy, but I genuinely feel yesterday was an amazing thing to be part of whatever the result.

If the thread is going to be sniping then I will see you around.

TheBogQueen · 19/09/2014 07:48

I think perhaps it's a good idea to stop dictating what people can and can't say on a thread. Just let people speak.
