evertonmint I agree.
I'm English, have Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish grandparents and great grandparents.
If the Scottish or anyone else want to be Independent then that is their right. If independence had happened today I wouldn't have been surprised or disappointed. I'm actually happy though as I feel we are one people, when Westminster says we have a 'special relationship' with America, actually no, we have a special relationship with each other.
That said without this vote I wouldn't have thought how unfair it is that others vote about English issues and the West Lothian question wouldn't have happened. I was happy with the status quo.
Now I think it is fair that England have a fair vote in English issues. I can't afford for my children to go to uni, but it would be free in other parts of the UK. My DC was ill earlier this year and I spent nearly £100 in hospital parking, that wouldn't happen in other parts.
I'm looking forward to English devolution, but also apprehensive as I like being part of the whole.
I think the Queen is right and Tony Blair caused issues that didn't need to happen.
Apologies for losing the thread when it got weird!!
