Evening all!

OP posts:
FrankelandFilly · 18/09/2014 22:50

Clackmannanshire is usually one of the first to return during General Elections according to Radio 5. First result expected about 1am

ArgyMargy · 18/09/2014 22:50

Loletta there are an awful lot of English Labour MPs too.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/09/2014 22:50

Loletta that's not actually true, they can and have won without Scotland. We count most when its close when we have swung it a few times.

squoosh · 18/09/2014 22:50

I think some people's currency will have shot up during this campaign Ruth Davidson and Patrick Harvie being two examples.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/09/2014 22:51

No regrets here Middleagedmoo, I thought about it long and hard. But I know others will be feeling the same

WildThong · 18/09/2014 22:51

Are we all no-ers? Where have all the regular yes-ers gone?

SlowlorisIncognito · 18/09/2014 22:51

Loletta That's not the case. Labour would have still won all the elections from 1997 onwards, for example, without Scotland, even though the majority would have been lower.

For this current parliament, we would have had a conservative majority without the Scottish, though.

flippinada · 18/09/2014 22:52

As someone who is as likely to vote conservative as Alex Salmond is to pass up the opportunity for self-promotion, I must say..I like Ruth Davidson.

There, I said it.

grovel · 18/09/2014 22:52

Ruth Davidson is wholly-admired in my neck of the woods (SE England).

FrankelandFilly · 18/09/2014 22:52

Anyone else wondering if, after the predicted high turnout, they'll consider lowering the voting age for other elections?

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 18/09/2014 22:52

middleagedmoo what did you end up voting (if you don't mind saying) and why are you regretting it?

Wynona · 18/09/2014 22:52

Middleagedmoo, I'm new to. I've given up trying to keep up. I'm sorry that you have doubts, it must be hard.

frankie80 · 18/09/2014 22:53

either this vote is making me nervous and sick feeling

or its the copious amounts of chocolate etc I've scoffed

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 18/09/2014 22:53

flippin have a Wine to recover Grin

squoosh · 18/09/2014 22:53

Middleagedmoo I think a lot of people feel that way and it's definitely better that you voted rather than not vote at all. I'm sure you gave it plenty of thought and made the right choice for you. Doubts are pretty common I think.

squoosh · 18/09/2014 22:54

Everyone loves Ruth, shame she's a Tory!

flippinada · 18/09/2014 22:54

Justr in case you missed it - cos I know this moves fast - from The Guardian:

"YouGov's Peter Kellner says "I can't see No losing this now. At the risk of looking a complete prat it's a 99% certainty.""

Cambiodenombre · 18/09/2014 22:54

I think Ruth has done great. I also was impressed with Johann lament although I am basin that solely on one interview I heard. It pains me greatly to admit it but AS and NS have been very effective. I think there is bugger all substance to bp what they say but I can see how they grab the crowds.

Biggest winner for me was GB yesterday. I have no time for him but his speech yesterday was fantastic IMO. I now have genuine respect for him

Cannoworms · 18/09/2014 22:54

Definitely no regrets here either middleagedmoo. Always been a No

TroelsNextCampaignManager · 18/09/2014 22:54

Not a Tory but agree with you squoosh and LLLL, Ruth Davidson was one of BT's strongest players.

starwarslegoboy · 18/09/2014 22:55

Annabel Goldie, the previous Conservative leader, was gay too. And not a problem for anyone. I loved Annabel, and I am not too fond of Tories. Ruth is good, and far better than Margaret Curran.

flippinada · 18/09/2014 22:55

WhatWould FreddieDo - I may have to... Grin

frankie80 · 18/09/2014 22:55

lots of ruth davidson likers here

Imagine if this new respect lead to more tory voters here in Scotland, especially if Ruth was heading the conservatives in an independent Scotland?

No chance of a conservative government ever again eh???

Cambiodenombre · 18/09/2014 22:55

Must not type after wine...

Putmedownsaidthefish · 18/09/2014 22:55
