To be really annoyed with the debate today on Loose Women?

Firstly, let me say, I do NOT watch this shite usually, I flicked it on as background noise this afternoon but was caught by the debate they were having, namely Domestic Abuse.

The whole debate was centred around the basis of the woman being the victim and the man, the perpetrator. They had a guest speaker on, I think she was affiliated with the refuge system in some way, very anti-men, and brought up these statistics about 95% of perpetrators being male etc.

This makes me so angry. The only reason the statistic is so unbalanced is because men don't come forward as often as women probably do.

I am aware of womens refuge's, but are there any for men?

I think far too much emphasis is placed on the male in these cases and is much too overlooked Angry

Just my opinion, rant over.

Come on Tom a bright intelligent man like yourself should be able to back up all you are saying with statistical evidence. Unless of course you are saying all those murders committed by men are a feminist lie too?

Blistory · 17/09/2014 19:45

Poor dead Tom. I mourn his passing.

TomLondon · 17/09/2014 19:45

MrSheen I want equal parenting and to do away with the need for any parent to pay child support. They should both have legal responsibilities under the law. Currently the law is idiotic and lets me get away with paying next to nothing.

Bulbasaur · 17/09/2014 19:45

Unless of course you are saying all those murders committed by men are a feminist lie too?

Women made them do it. It's a conspiracy.

Blistory · 17/09/2014 19:46

Oh, I'm not liking the spirit of poor dead Tom much.

Let's you get away with paying next to nothing ? Proud of yourself are you ?

MrSheen · 17/09/2014 19:46

Oh, OK. I didn't realise the apotheosis in parenting was to 'get away with' a legal minimum.

AnyFucker · 17/09/2014 19:46

Do you actually pay next to nothing, Tom ?

FlossyMoo · 17/09/2014 19:47

Oh gosh sorry AF my facts are clearly out of date or if your Tom my facts are a feminist lie Grin

Tom is children needing to be clothed and fed another feminist lie?

Whiskwarrior · 17/09/2014 19:50

I'm a single parent and I'm pretty sure I do have legal responsibilities towards my children.

Don't neglect them.
Don't abuse them.
Get them to school or HE them.

I don't just get to decide 'ah, fuck 'em' now I've split from their Dad.

TomLondon · 17/09/2014 19:52

The current laws enable non resident parents to get around child support payments.

I actively encourage fathers who are denied the contact they want to use the loopholes. It is a policy of civil disobedience which if enough people followed would lead to the end of this system where one parent is awarded the children. Equal parenting and equal responsibilities to children under the law.

FlossyMoo · 17/09/2014 19:52

Tom wohooooo a statistic you have actually got right!!!

You are correct there are more male victims of violence in this world................and they are committed by MEN!!!

Fairenuff · 17/09/2014 19:52

Murders are a useful tool for the feminists.

Not so much for the dead ones, hey?

Whiskwarrior · 17/09/2014 19:52

Tom, you've been asked again and again to back up your statements with stats or evidence of some kind but you seem really reluctant to do that.

Why is that?

TomLondon · 17/09/2014 19:52

sorry parents. Mother as well should not pay if they are the non resident parent

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 17/09/2014 19:53

"how a disgrace"

You watched LW. Half my family are from Liverpool, like most Scousers they're intelligent people. You appear to be letting the side down.

"And who says I'm not at work usually?"

No one, and you know that. What I am saying is even people who watch little to no television know that there are numerous channels. The fact that you didn't switch over suggests you don't know how to work a remote control. Come on, admit it, you don't do you? There's no shame. Well, maybe a little. (

AnyFucker · 17/09/2014 19:53

Tom, answer the question

do you pay adequate maintenence for your children, or not

Whiskwarrior · 17/09/2014 19:54

What about the fathers who aren't denied the contact? Should they use the loopholes too?

My ex has only once managed to make a full maintenance payment towards his children. He was the one who met someone else and decided to walk out on all of us.

Not once have I denied him access to his children. I've bent over backwards to ensure he sees them, in fact.

Caff2 · 17/09/2014 19:55

That Tom, is he some kind of parody? Or something? Because, I THINK he just said he was proud of "getting away" with paying nothing for the children he adores so much and that that is feminists' fault. Which he can't possibly have thought was a good argument, surely?

And if he did, by some wild stretch of the imagination, mean that, well then I have to say what a terrible advert he is for the terribly hard done by mras!

TomLondon · 17/09/2014 19:55

So floosy who are the victims of violence? And yet if you believe the feminist lies it is women who need protection.

MrSheen · 17/09/2014 19:55

we have been told it is an issue that affects women and that men are the cause

Gendered violence by men against women is an issue that affects women and men are the cause. That's pretty much the definition. It's not actually the feminists job to campaign against male on male violence. You can do that yourselves. You can also feel free to campaign for the male victims of domestic abuse. Feminists aren't actually stopping you from doing this, we just aren't going to do it for you.

Still waiting for that sexual violence in prisons report you made up. If googled but amazingly, I found nothing.

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 17/09/2014 19:56

"This assumption that males are more violent and the more abusive gender is a feminist lie"

In Victorian England around ten times more men than women were convicted of assault; was that because the Victorians were such militant radical feminists, do you think?

MrSheen · 17/09/2014 19:56

AnyFucker He said he has paid less than £1000 for 2 children over 4 years.
