As title really, its tomorrow and chatting to him now, but its going to be a disaster. I've been sucked in by a pretty face. Am I being too picky?

I have a 1st from Cambridge, and I didn't know Buckinghamshire existed (was driving there with future DH). Do I win a tin of soup?

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 15/09/2014 04:17

There's a reason you're single OP.

musicalendorphins2 · 15/09/2014 05:24

No, cancel the date. Save yourself for a soup making travel agent.

saffronwblue · 15/09/2014 05:59

I don't think the words tinder and date actually go together, do they? You are meeting each other for sex, not conversation about the capitals of Europe or made-from-scratch soup recipes.

Beastofburden · 15/09/2014 07:07

Given that OP is 50% older than they guy she proposes to meet, I love the way it is her that gets to be picky.

Wouldn't like to promise what I knew when I was 22. When I was 33 I was not looking for 22 year olds to shag, though.

fairnotfair · 15/09/2014 07:11

I really fancy some Heinz Tomato now

PitchSlapped · 15/09/2014 07:30

I neither know nor care what a noble gas is without googling, I have never been to scotland or wales and I have a btec as well as a levels. I love tinned soup.

The 22 year old just wants sex like someone else said he doesnt care about your opinion of him

NotYouNaanBread · 15/09/2014 07:30

I don't think she should be bashed for the age thing as a stand alone issue, but the breathtaking snobbery - against somebody who has done nothing worse than like her picture on Tinder - is grim.

Itsfab · 15/09/2014 07:46

HA HA at BTECK!!!

You think you are so much better than him so best you don't waste your time Hmm.

It is B Tech btw.

Itsfab · 15/09/2014 07:50

B Tec ffs

moxon · 15/09/2014 07:55

Soup's okay; not knowing where Berlin is...? shudder

Shodan · 15/09/2014 08:14

Awww, go on the 'date'.

You can go here. It's got it all- penises in rolls, soup AND it's in Berlin, which if IIRC, is in Outer Mongolia.

Shodan · 15/09/2014 08:16

Although it might be wise to ask him first if he lays cucumber slices or onions along his wiener. It's the only way to tell if he's worth a go.

iklboo · 15/09/2014 08:24

The queen eats tinned soup. Well, she must do - Heinz has got a 'by royal appointment' crest.

iklboo · 15/09/2014 08:25

Bet she loves a bowl of Heinz tomato soup with some heavily buttered Warbies Superthick Toastie bread & a mug of Tetleys.

LineRunner · 15/09/2014 08:25

The Berlin Problem as a key indicator in the success or otherwise of a meaningless shag.

I've got a CSE in that.

sarahighseas · 15/09/2014 08:26

Gosh I think I'm being given a hard time, if it was fresh soup it wouldn't be such a turn off. But tinned soup is edable for decades, that can't be good for you.

OP posts:
ConcreteElephant · 15/09/2014 08:27

You won't be dissing tinned soup when the zombie apocalypse comes...

jaynebxl · 15/09/2014 08:27

I assume you don't eat anything tinned then OP? No tinned tomatoes?

sarahighseas · 15/09/2014 08:29

Maybe tinned tomatoes occasionally in the winter, but they are mixed with fresh stuff. I'm not at the moment as I've got too many tomatoes in the greenhouse.

TheLastThneed · 15/09/2014 08:39

This is deffo a wind-up.

BringMeTea · 15/09/2014 08:52

Agree. OP is having us on. Otherwise 'she' would at least spellcheck before condemning the 22 year old soup lover.

forago · 15/09/2014 08:55

This thread is hilarious. I am educated to masters level, 2 Russell group unis, travelled and lived widely round the world (though only discovered how lovely Wales is recently), have my own company and yet I have the shittest diet you could possibly imagine. I have the same sandwich from pret for lunch every day with a bag of crisps, I rarely eat anything as healthy as soup but if I did it would probably be Heinz tomato. This morning I had a packet of smarties for breakfast. I really haven't got time for gardening, growing veg or any of that shit. How does that fit with your (weird) world view.

PiperRose · 15/09/2014 09:01

I went out (for a bit) with someone who had a first from Oxford, could speak 5 languages and played the cello. He had not one clue about how a woman worked, mentally or physically.

sarahighseas · 15/09/2014 09:04

One this isn't a wind up. And two I'm not saying there is a link between itelegence and diet , I worked with a guy with a PhD in astrophysics from a world class uni but he loved KFC and Iceland was his fave supermarket. What I am saying is I find people with a poor diet and poor knowledge a turn off.
